Trip Number Nine ~ It's Christmastime!

I love talking FOOD on vacation~ WDW or anywhere!!
I love looking at old trip pictures!!! Those were some great ones. I saw some patterns there. We definately all have our favorites.
Can you pick one favorite restaurant?? I can't seem to do it. I have a few that I love to go back to.
I forgot to say that our first family trip was 2005 too.

Me too! :yay:

Hmm....IDK what I would say is our absolute favorite!! That's a tough one. We probably all have a different answer on that one, but if we all had to agree on one it would have to be Kona Cafe for breakfast. :goodvibes
Everyone in the family is happy there! ::yes::

Love the old pictures! The boys look so little on your first trips!

Can't wait to hear where you've decided to eat.

Happy (Late to the Party) 5 Weeks!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ohmygoodness!!!!!!!! You got the ME stuff Saturday????!!!!!????:cool1: (Did you get it while I was at Starbucks???):rotfl:

That means the package stuff with luggage tags will be in the mail maybe this week!!! Which means I'm scared to death that Belle is going to get it out of the mail before me.:faint:

oh geez. I'm a nervous wreck it's gonna get spoiled.

Okay now---- allllllllllllllllll those restaurants. You should do an ultimate Disney Dining Review. It would be so interesting to see what you ate (or didn't order ;) ). I think its neat that you have been to so many places and you try new things so often. I'm such a stuck in the mud- always going to the same old places.

Kona Breakfast..... Of course it's a fave.

I know I keep saying I can't believe how much the boys have grown, but holy cow look at how little they were that first trip!!
I can't believe I've seen them grow up all these years.
It's so neat, and sad at the same time.

::yes::

Can't wait to hear where you're eating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 5 Weeks Shelly!

I have to agree with Jodi that Kona Cafe is always a favorite with our family. The food is always fresh, hot and serve quite quickly. The pricing is very reasonable and it fills you up and gets you ready for a day at MK or Epcot.

We went there at least two time last year and four times in 2010. No complaints from anyone!

Yachtsman Steakhouse was a first time for my wife and I in 2011. We celebrated my wife's birthday there with our Disney friends from Orlando. They have been there many times and had said that they have enjoyed it. The food and presentation was very good. My filet was prepared perfectly and my wife's NY was very good too. It was very cool to see the aged meat and preparation area. The service was good too - very attentive and helpful. Definitely an upscale experience and the pricing reflected it. I think it would be safe to say, if you want a great steak - go here. Afterwards, we took a walk through the resort area -very nice! I wouldn't mind staying there some time.

Wish I could write more, but I am off to a lunch meeting.

Sea :cool1:

Where have I been? Well, I've been shopping for Peanut's Christmas gifts, which has been SO MUCH FUN!!!!! :cool1:

I also spent the baby-free night this weekend, as my aunt babysat Claudia overnight. We celebrated by sleeping 12 HOURS!!! Yay for sleeping in! Together! :cloud9:

My favorite restaurants are Kona and Via Napoli. I want to try something new, but I'm not sure what... Any suggestion? Also, which one was your favorite character meal?

Guess what I got today??

MICKEY MAIL!!!!!!!!!!

It came!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember long ago the sniffing of the sleeves????? (I bet Sea remembers!!!!!:lmao:) You KNEW your vacation was close when you could sniff that sleeve!
It was almost-- ALMOST that much fun but not quite b/c I didn't get a headache after wards.:joker:

Anyway,
I went out as soon as the postal lady came by and there was the little envelope in all it's glory!!!

I came full on RUNNING inside-- whipped up a latte, turned on Michael Buble's Christmas CD as loud as I could and sat there holding it in my hot little hands, grinning like a mule eating briars.

I'm so happy I've been giggling for the past 30 minutes.

And then I tried to get on here to tell you all about it and my stupid internet had gone on vacation--- AGAIN!!!--- so what did I do??

I cleaned out my BINDER!!

And then I re worked my plans and once the internet came back from it's extended journey to Timbuktu, I logged onto the WDW website and cancelled an ADR and THEN, oh yes THEN-----

I PRINTED OUT MY PLANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Round of applause please!:rotfl2:

Now--- where the heck are you anyway?

You didn't say you were working today??

Are you shopping?????

pixiedust:

Okay I'm rambling but I don't have anyone to talk to and my caffiene from the latte is kicking in, so................ :hyper::hyper::hyper:

 I think I did get it when you were in Starbucks!! ::yes::

And I got another one today. :faint: I swear this arriving at the GF and departing from the Poly has got the ME people so confused. :confused3 Neither of my ME trips show online under my ressies. Still!! Even though I've called several times. So now I think I have one booklet for the trip there and one for the way back. Great, more junk to carry. :upsidedow

I don't think I will be getting any package stuff since my ressies are 'room only'... Is yours a package???

I know, I could do a big fat super ultimate WDW Dining Review, couldn't I??? Sure seems like we've eaten a ton. :faint::rotfl:

I am always shocked to see how much the boys have grown when I look back at old WDW pics. So sad.

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

Yep, Kona is awesome -- food, service, price, everything!!::yes:: Love it! :lovestruc

DH and I went to the Yachtsman in May for our anniversary. We liked it a lot. It's a nice quiet place with good service. My steak was prepared well done, just how I like it. But we didn't really care for all the sauces that came on the steak. Kind of took away from the steak we thought. Next time I will ask for it plain!!

Hope your meeting went well. :)

YAY for Christmas shopping and for 12 hours of sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome!! :cool1:

We really like T-Rex and Big River Grille. And for a good character meal -- definitely Crystal Palace for breakfast and Chef Mickey's for dinner! ::yes:: They also have a nice one at the Swan - the Garden Grove. It's a very laid back quiet character meal.

Guess what I got today??

Mickey Mail?!!!! :cool1: Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad I don't think I'm getting any......Oh well, it's not as fun anymore since it doesn't come in a plastic sleeve!!

Well that was lucky that you got the mail and the kids didn't!! ::yes::

Sorry I wasn't here to celebrate with you. Stupid work. :sad2:

But maybe it's a good thing I wasn't here and you GOT YOUR PLANS DONE!! :woohoo: And cancelled an ADR??? :scared: Do tell!! popcorn::

Hooray for Mickey Mail!:cool1: I just love getting that in the mail. It makes the trip seem that much closer!

I loved seeing pictures of your past dining experiences! I cannot believe how big your boys have gotten! You have dined at some great places!:thumbsup2

So, guess what...I changed resorts. Just now. For next week.:scared1: I checked today just for "fun." Well, there was an opening in Sugarloaf at the GF. So I called and took it! I am a bit worried about the construction, but I'm so excited! The girls are beside themselves with excitement. They love the GF at Christmastime with all of the decorations. And we will be at the Poly for New Year's.:thumbsup2 We just brought up the luggage today from the basement...the next eight days are crazy busy for us, so the time will hopefully fly by!

Wow, Shelly, that is quite a list of TS restaurants! (no jokes from me, but it was hard ;)) The only ones we have been to are LeCellier, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, and San Angel Inn. How sad is that? I don't think I have ever seen pics of your boys that young! That one from 2005 is precious!

Yay for getting your ME tags! :yay: Does it always throw them off when you do a resort change? Seems I remember that happening to you before, but I'm not sure. Are your suitcases out yet? ;)

I can't believe your and Jodi's trips are so close! Five weeks is like 2 weeks around this time of year. So much to do and the time flies.

It is amazing to see how many WDW restaurants you rack up over the years!! :faint:

I can't believe you changed resorts!!! AGAIN!! :upsidedow You are so funny! :lmao: You'll have to let us know how the GF is with all the construction. Jodi and I are a bit concerned. I was hopeful that the courtyard pool would be done a bit early and ready for our trip, but I read today that they are actually behind schedule. :sad2: You'll have to check into that for us if you don't mind!!

You better get packed!! I was thinking of bringing my luggage up from downstairs over the weekend, but decided to try to wait another week or so. It's killing me!! :hyper:

Well yes, your WDW dining is lacking a bit, compared to some. ;):rotfl:

I know!! Look how little the boys were! :faint: That was actually DS11's 4th birthday in the 2005 pic. Take a look at this one!

100_0093.jpg

Look at those cheeks!! I sure miss those days.

I don't remember, but you are probably right. It seems to take very little to throw Magical Express off! :confused3:rotfl: Good grief. I guess having 2 books is better than the alternative - not getting any!

I'm guessing the suitcases will make their way upstairs next weekend!! :yay: I'm just afraid of how many I am going to need.....:scared1: I think time is going to fly by too! With Thanksgiving and conferences at school and Christmas shopping and everything else!! :cool1:

Look at his little face!!!!!!!!!! So precious-- he's got "Stinker" written all over him!!! :rotfl:
They grow up too fast and get big n stinky n smelly.:worried:
sigh.

I did get a package-- it was the code I used--- so I got the luggage tags with Mickey Mouse on them. Thinking I will use them somehow for the surprise....
ANd no, like I said before- you CAN'T pack yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2:

T's dining is lacking a bit. :rolleyes1 Comparatively speaking of course.;)

Lauren!!! Yay for all the excitement over GF!! I think it will be good--- make sure you request Marina view so you don't look at the stupid walls. Congrats on the switch!

I know -- look at him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lovestruc I can't believe he's 11 already and will be a stinky teenager soon. :faint: He's my baby!!!

I guess I forgot you got a package. I did room only and got my park tix from UT. So no new luggage tags for me! That's okay though, I still have several unused from previous trips!!

I'm telling you -- the suitcases are coming upstairs this weekend!!! You better get on it girl!!!!!!!!:cool1:

So where are we eating this time???

Well, as of right now we have ADR's at:

Sci-Fi Dine In dinner
Kona Cafe breakfast (2X)
LeCellier lunch
T-Rex dinner
Tony's Town Square dinner
Ohana dinner

Not sure if we are keeping all of them or maybe changing a few things around....The last few days plans are up in the air still and I might need to do some rearranging....None of these ADR's are new to us. So that bothers me a bit. We always like to try at least a few new restaurants each trip, but there's really nothing different that we are wanting to try right now. I know everyone is going crazy trying to get ADR's at BOG, but the menu just doesn't interest us.

I'm probably most excited about LeCellier! Haven't been there in about 3 years. :scared1: So hopefully it won't be a disappointment!!

I'm a little nervous about Sci-Fi since they took the steak salad off the menu. Not sure what I'll be getting to go along with my milkshake.... Any suggestions?

And Tony's was very good the one time we ate there, but that will kind of be a last minute decision if we feel like a sit down dinner that evening or just do CS...

So that's it for now!

As for CS meals...We will likely end up at the following ~ Gasparilla's (if it is open), Capt. Cook's, Casey's Corner, Pecos Bill, somewhere at Epcot - thinking about trying La Cantina de San Angel again.....the first time we tried it wasn't a great experience but it was pouring down rain and the environment wasn't the best, so considering giving it another try.... And the rest is up in the air! Maybe we'll try some new CS places and that's where we will get our new dining experiences this trip! :upsidedow

Up Next: Shopping, Clothes, and Packing

Well yes, your WDW dining is lacking a bit, compared to some. ;):rotfl:

That picture I do remember! I love those chubby little cheeks! And those eyes - precious!

I don't remember you saying you were going to Sci Fi. IDK what to tell you to order!

An egg roll???:bitelip:

A hot dog??:hyper:

I just don't know?

I really hope that LC is good this time. I know last time left a lot to be desired. The question is--- will you order the risotto this time???:lovestruc

I had wanted to somehow fit tony's in this trip again and couldn't. LTT is where we're eating the night we are in the MK. There's just so many places to go and not enough time to get to them.:(

Ohana---- I love it. Hopefully it will be just as good as last time. That bread pudding..... it is seriously the best stuff I've ever eaten and now I can't eat it. So you will have to eat enough for me and tell me how great it was. :rotfl2:

And packing--- no!!!!!!!!!!! No packing early! I just get myself into trouble doing that!
I need to shop for winter clothes before I can do that anyway.
