Trip Number Nine ~ It's Christmastime!

Hooray for an update!

If only you would have picked the week before Thanksgiving, then we could have met up! Oh well, hopefully our trips will overlap some day! I'm jealous that you and Jodi will be there at the same time!

I'm so glad that you are staying at the Poly again! I know how much you love it there. And you are going to just love the GF. It is so beautiful, especially at Christmas time!

We are taking the girls out of school for our November trip. DD11 will miss 5 days, and my older girls will miss three. Our school district is also good about letting the kids miss school for family vacations. My older girls who are in college have already talked to their professors, and the professors told them to not even worry about missing school. It helps that they are good students and don't usually miss classes. So luckily things all worked out! Family vacations are so important anyways, kids are only young for so long!

Felt a little like I was at an infomercial. A GOOD informercial, not one of those dumb rotisserie chicken infomercials where you just 'Set it and Forget it'. I mean, because honestly... what the heck do you do if you're baking chicken in the oven? You Set it and forget it till it's done.
What the heck ever. (My humble apologies to anyone who owns the Ronco rotisserie machine.)

Okay so was that convo we had when you finally chose your date entertaining or what? I can't believe you had to go thru all those weeks just to get to the one you chose.

And I just love that your DH knew that we'd be going the same week.
Of course.

I'm very happy that you are able to stay at two beautiful resorts this trip, and since one of them I will be at and the other you just love.... what could go wrong??

Woo Hoo.... 48 Days!

Well, I'm glad you made it home safely!! There were A LOT of very important matters to be discussed!

And yes - it is going to be the Best Trip Evah!! If we can top August 2011 that is! It will be hard. But I totally think we can do it.

Finally able to join the new PTR! I have just been checking the DIS from my phone lately and haven't wanted to post much. Once we got back from our trip, I just couldn't get out of my funk. Especially because I have NO idea when we'll get back. Anyways...can't wait to read about your plans!

I know it's hard to get out of the funk of being back from WDW and get back into the swing of reality. Can't wait to hear all about Cole's first trip!

good thing you took the boys out of school that extra day,..they wouldn't be able to focus well anyway,,,so it's for the best!

I already know the answer because it's part of your tickers, but you did not even mention what resort you'll be staying at for those extra two nights you got for free.

I have a feeling this trip will be magical, between your favorite resort, the other deluxe resort , Jodi's family being there at the same time, and all the Christmas decorations everywhere.

I know. I'm starting to think our trips will never overlap and I won't ever get to meet you in person. It's got to happen one of these times, right??

That's good that your girls won't have any problems with missing school. One less thing to worry about! I know my boys will be fine. I wouldn't take them out if they weren't good students. I just dread all the make up work. It's always so much.

But you are right - family vacations are so important and the kids are only kids for so long.

I love your BB story! I didn't know all the details of how this trip came to be. As the wife of a hunter, I commend you on being so acommodating to pick a buck-free week. I hope your DH realizes what a lucky man he is! That is so funny how he was not at all surprised that you would be there the same time as Jodi and family. I think he's happy as long as you're happy. I hope you realize what a lucky lady you are!

I hesitate to say this.......but I think this will be your best trip ever!!!

I remember a few trips ago when you went in November. I just loved all the pics of the decorations and your videos of the Osborne lights. So I'm really looking forward to some new stories and pics.

Let's talk Disney parks and tickets..............


If I had to rate the parks most favorite to least favorite it would probably go something like this:

Me: DHS/Epcot/MK would all tie for first!! Love them all so much. With AK far behind.
DH: Epcot, no question would be first. Then probably MK and DHS would tie for second. And AK way far behind.
DS13: DHS first for sure! Probably MK and Epcot tied for second. And AK last.
DS11: Epcot first for sure! Then MK. Then DHS. And AK last.


So, as you can see we all have one thing in common – AK last! Not sure what it is, or isn't... We just don't feel the love there like we do all the other parks. In-fact, DH & DS11 didn't even go to AK with DS13 & I on our Aug 2011 trip. And we gave up our AK day entirely on the May 2012 trip and went to LegoLand instead! But I do have to say that I am really looking forward to getting back to AK this time.

DS13 and I are thrill seekers!! Although I am afraid I am not going to be able to keep up with him much longer. Anymore one time is enough on my favorite rides – RNRC, TOT, Space Mtn, EE, etc. DS13 on the other hand can keep going and going and going!! Wish I could still do that! But I will keep riding them as long as my body will let me! So rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DS11 and DH are not in love with thrill rides so much. TT, Soarin, POTC, and BTMRR are about as much excitement as those 2 can handle!

We usually get about 8 day base tickets for our trips. This time when planning this redo trip we decided we were only going to get 4 day base tix and do each park one day and the rest would be resort time, touring for decorations, DTD, etc. But when I went to purchase my tickets from Undercover Tourist the 5 day was the same price as the 4 day. So now we have 5 day tix!! Not sure what we will do with that 5th day ticket... My guess is that it will go to either MK or Epcot. Could go either way. We will be just across the lake from MK, so it will be tempting to get there more than once. But if TT is open (and it better be!!) we might lean towards 2 trips to Epcot! Ugh. Now I want 6 day tix.
