Trip Number 9 ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year ~ Christmastime at the GF & Poly

Bummer about your curling iron. I wonder if I should even bother packing mine for June. Might be pointless with all the heat and humidity. :confused3

Love the pic of hte boys with Potato Head. My how they've grown!!!

And only 45 minutes in the Lego Store. That IS a record! DTD takes forever between DS in the Lego Store and DD in WOD. I'm exhausted in the end! :faint:

Yay an update!!

I enjoyed this one so much too.

Your DTD day was so nice compared to mine. My family has informed me no more DTD bc they were miserable with all the people all "up in they grill".

:rolleyes1

You got some good photo op places there.

Thats great that you had a good excuse to not spend a week in the Lego store this trip.
Good for him- in and out with the quickness. ;)
I'm sure he chose the perfect one to spend his money on too.

Agree with everyone else- the co worker is a great DH and I bet those things are cute in person. Haven't seen one yet myself.

Ready to go back. NOW.popcorn::

Thanks for the update!

Look at you, getting into TRex with that phone call! Next thing you know, you'll be telling us you walked up and got in! I don't know if I've ever heard of THAT happening! Your sampler platter looks delicious! I would have probably ordered the same thing. I love having a taste of lots of different things. Whenever we eat out, which is usually seafood, I most always get some type of platter.

Love your DTD pics, especially the boys in front of Mr. Potato Head. They have gotten so big!

We're having crazy January weather, too. No rain, but cloudy and high in the mid 70's.

I know right, I'm almost as cool as those people who can walk right up and get in!! :rotfl:

All our food there was very good. :thumbsup2

Still need to pull out some old Mr Potato Head pics!

Oh you guys and your 70's!! :faint: We are in the 40's and that's a heat wave!

It looks like it was a nice day in DTD! When we were there over New Year's, that whole area was wall to wall people...oh well, I guess we asked for it!:rotfl: Can't wait to be back there soon!

The Lego store looks like fun...that's good you weren't in there that long this time! We have never been in there. Well, we actually may have been in there once, but the girls had no interest!:rotfl: It looks like a neat store though!:thumbsup2

Wow I didn't realize you were going back already!! :cool1: Are you doing CL at the BWI?!

Oh my, I have spent many hours in that Lego Store. :faint: It is a neat place, but I could do with about 15 minutes of it each trip. ::yes:::rotfl:

Hope that gift was not a snow globe! Can't put them in the carry on.

Nope, it wasn't a snow globe! It's like a little light up box. :)

Wow DTD looked empty!!

Good for DS in the Lego store, well good for you not having to be there 3 hours lol.

Don't let me loose in WoD. I spend hours in there and way to much money!! Kinda like your DS in the Lego store :lmao:

We will definately go shopping in DTD Sat. night after dinner. I still haven't decided where I want to eat yet. I was thinking Il Mulino in the Swalphin. Have you ever tried it there? We ate at Il MUlino in the Trump hotel in Atlantic City. I'm not sure if it's the same but the food is similiar (italian).

I guess I need to decide quick so I can make a reservation. I don't think I'll have a problem with that one though.

Looks like you were posting another update as I was replying!

Those pictures are beautiful! And yes, your DH's coworker is an awesome husband! Do you mind me asking around how much those were? If you don't know, no problem. I would love to get one on our next trip!

The bus situation at the GF stinks. I agree with everyone else in saying that I don't know why they don't either just share with the Poly or have their own bus.:confused3 Those bus trips, especially from DTD take FOREVER!

Thanks Lauren! :)

I'm not sure of the exact prices of those things. I wish I knew what they were called too! :upsidedow I remember DH's co-worker saying he thought it was around $100, but it was actually less than that. Plus we got 10% off. So it was around $80 I think...

Yeah, the bus situation was bad. :( I wish they would do something about that!!

Found this TR today & really enjoying it! :goodvibes

:welcome:

Glad you are enjoying the TR! :thumbsup2 Feel free to post anytime!

Just saw a family's vacation video that filmed part of it in this location. I had no idea where it was, until I just saw it on your TR!

Those lightboxes at the Art of Disney store look phenomenal! I would love to buy one some day, probably the castle one. It'll be interesting to hear your airport security story with it...

Oh that's cool! :goodvibes I don't remember it ever looking like that there before. So IDK if it's always been like that or not. :confused3 When we went back later in the week they had little holiday groups singing there on that lawn.

I liked the castle one too! ::yes:: Let's just say -- they have wires in them. Enough said?? :rotfl: It's funny looking back on it now, but I didn't think it was too funny at the airport! :faint:

I know, I couldn't believe that happened!! :upsidedow

It will be hot & humid in June! :faint: Yeah, so don't bother spending too much time on your hair! :scared1:

I know, the boys are growing up so fast!! :sad2:

DTD can get exhausting. You think you are going there for a nice break from the parks, but one trip in the Lego Store and I'm spent! :confused3:rotfl:

Thanks for the update!

Glad you enjoyed the update! :goodvibes What day did you go to DTD? I can't remember...I wonder why it was so crowded?? That stinks!

It was tough for DS to pick just the right Lego set in such a short time, but he managed! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

You'll have to pop into the Art of Disney and check those light-box thingys out! I think they have them in Epcot too.

I'm ready to go too. Summer is going to be a long time coming. :faint:

I usually spend way too much time & money in WoD too, but I was good this time. Just a quick in & out and only got a few little things. :)

Funny that you mention Il Mulino! :faint: It's on my list for the next trip. Was thinking about it for a date night for DH & I....You'll have to let me know if you go and how it is!! :thumbsup2 Take pics! ::yes:: I don't think you'll have too much trouble getting in there at the last minute. I don't think a lot of people think about going to the restaurants at the S/D.

That is funny that you were thinking about the same restaurant.. a little scary I think LOL

I will let you know what I decide. :)

You're right about getting in. I never hear of anybody going there. I hope it's as good as the one in NJ. It was fabulous!!!!

I know!!! :faint:

Oh I love those pictures in the art store! They look 3-d or something! I love the tea cups and the castle one. Do you remember how much they were? (Sorry if someone else has asked... didn't have time to read all the comments.) Can't wait to see the pool fun at the GF. When we visited there, we thought the pool was very pretty!

Okay so it's Bored To Tears Tuesday....

which shan't be confused with a 'FOF', which is really fun yet insane, and can only occur once before any given trip--- meaning every other Friday of the calendar year is a Not-so-Fun Filled Friday.

Tomorrow will be What-shall-I-Do Wednesday, Followed by a There-I-Cleaned-it Thursday.... and then comes the dreaded Not -So-Fun Filled Friday again.

Yes I'm rambling.

Guess I'll go get groceries.
Maybe something there will make me not so bored. A sale in the produce section maybe????

:joker:

(Backing away from the espresso now....:surfweb:)

Hey Jo

All of the above sound better than "Another Too Icy Tuesday" here in Ct. :rotfl:

Have fun shopping!

Ah man, I ca imagine! Good to know!

I didn't want to put it in the checked luggage and have it get broken and I sure never thought we would have trouble getting it through security in our carry-ons. :faint: I was just thinking it didn't have any liquid, wasn't thinking about wires.

Yes, it was kind of 3D. Now that we are all talking about it I think I want one!! :rotfl: I think they were around $90 maybe, and if you have a Disney Visa you can get 10% off!

Pool pics coming up soon! :goodvibes Unfortunately they aren't too pretty. There are construction walls and a half built DVC building and the sun wasn't out that afternoon. But on the bright side, there were only about 5 people in the pool! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I'm bored too. Guess I should have turned my phone on this morning and possibly got called into work....:rolleyes1 Didn't feel well last night and didn't sleep hardly at all. Now I have a migraine. :headache: But I just had an excedrin and a Mtn. Dew for lunch. Hoping that fixes me right up. :wizard:

Good luck with that produce sale!! :wizard::banana::lmao:

We got snow here last night which made for a very icy drive to work! Not a lot of snow, but just enough to make it slippery.

Shelly- we were originally going to be in a standard room at BWI. For some reason, not sure why, a bunch of deluxes are fully booked for February 9-14 (when we are going). We originally wanted to stay at the Poly again, and last night a Poly standard room opened up ( the resort was fully booked and I had been checking for a room daily) so I grabbed it! So I requested Samoa and a balcony again...hope our requests are granted!!!

Anyone have any idea why that week would be so busy? It's not President's Day week or spring break so I'm confused!!

We got that nasty slushy stuff the night before last. Made the roads awful yesterday morning.

Well congrats on the Poly again!! :cool1: I hope all your requests are met! Hmm...IDK why all the deluxes would be booked that week. :confused3 Weird.

We just got back from WDW on Sunday, and I was hoping to get caught up on your updates on my first day back to "work" :rolleyes2, but I forgot all the pictures are blocked here :badpc:

Looks like I know what I am doing tonight! I read along with an update or two, but it's just not as fun as "being there" with you with the pics.

I miss it, I am jonesing to go back already :(

MARDI GRAS!!! :joker:

Mardi Gras is on Tuesday, Feb. 12 this year. So you are right in the middle of that time period. Schools in south Louisiana are closed (some as little as Monday and Tuesday, others all week) and that's when many people take vacations. And most either go to Disneyworld or skiing.

Hope you're feeling better this afternoon Shelly.

My trip to the store wasn't near as exciting as I thought it would be. No produce sale and nothing that caught my eye. I even walked s-l-o-w thru the aisles to entertain myself. :rotfl2: IDK what I thought I would find there amongst the cantaloupes and bananas? Not like I was strolling thru Tiffany's or anything. :confused3

Then when I couldn't stay any longer without looking like a stalker freak, I came home and cleaned the fridge out. I'm sure your boys probably told you it was in desperate need of repair the other night. I couldn't cram another thing into it so it all got tossed! :)

Yes, rambling again.
Sorry.

Sheila--- hope you get out of that ice soon! The North is too cold. You need to move to FL! ::yes::

Oh heck who am I kidding?
WE ALL NEED TO MOVE TO FLORIDA!!:drive:

Well, that would be it then!! For some reason I thought Mardi Gras was in March...:confused3

Sorry your grocery store trip wasn't so thrilling. Not even a good produce sale?? :faint: :rotfl:

Well at least you got your frig cleaned out! :thumbsup2 That always makes you feel better!! ::yes::

Looks like it's going to be a long boring week. I hate Jan - Feb - Mar -- cold, long & boring!!! :sad2:

Sometimes Mardi Gras does fall in March. It varies, based on when Easter Sunday is. I think Mardi Gras is always 47 days before Easter. Mardi Gras is supposed to be a good time to go to Disney, unless it falls near President's Day. We did go during Mardi Gras on one of our trips, and I remember it being really nice as far as crowds and weather go.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not feeling all that much better. :confused3

Sorry you are still fighting that migraine. :worried: My GF takes a pill called Maxalt (sp?) when she feels a migraine coming on. She usually starts off with half a pill because it is a very expensive drug, even with insurance. Have you ever heard of it?

I know you are sick of the cold, but would you believe we got up to 80 deg. today? That is not bragging, that is complaining! We will have that - and worse - soon enough. Can we please have a little more winter? :( I'd like to live somewhere where there are 4 seasons!
