SATURDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2002 PART 12

Awoke at 7.30 and its raining heavily. Took our time getting ready to go out as we had to find some long trousers and our jackets. After a leisurely breakfast at the Golden Corall its raining even harder. We decided to Knock MK on the head as there was no sign of the raining stopping. So we headed on to DD. It was raining even harder now so as everyone seemed to have the same idea about shopping we headed on over to the virgin megastore to try and get my brothers obscure CDs he likes. Unfortunately no luck. As we were leaving to go onto Downtown Kissimmee the heavens opened BIG time couldn’t even see the wipers let alone anything else, this lasted a very long and frightening 30 seconds before going back to very heavy rain. It was at this point we headed back to the hotel picking up some newspapers on the way from the brit shop to catch up on the news. We spent the rest of the day in the hotel watching some films before going out much later for some dinner. According to the news we had 5 yes 5 inches of rain today. Due to all the rain come the evening the humidity was through the roof and it was still raining when we went to bed.

SUNDAY 17TH NOVEMBER 2002 PART 13

Well its stopped raining but its very windy and cold. After taking our time getting up we went for a late breakfast at 10.30 at the ponderosa, better service this time. We parked up at Epcot before heading to MGM on the bus. Very quiet and straight in no waiting this time. Dave went on R an R whilst I waited for him and also TT again. We had a look around and did a few more rides and by this time it had stared to turn a bit colder. We then headed back to Epcot on the bus.

Went on spaceship earth and had a look around future world before heading over to the World showcase. We stopped and had a drink in the rose and crown, £4.00 for a pint of beer, and it was lukewarm. We made our way around the showcase stopping to look in all the worlds. I brought a nice crystal figure of Tigger and Pooh in Germany. After walking all the way around we stopped for some chips and nuggets from the Mcdonalds outlet before making our way over to Canada for the band Off Kilter. I don’t know if they are still playing there but these are not to be missed and we had a very enjoyable half hour here. They were so good we went back into the Canadian shop and purchased two of their CDs which they very kindly autographed for us. We then made our way round for the Tapestry of Dreams parade which was brilliant and am sad to hear from the boards that this is no longer running. Loved the music and would love a copy of it if any one know where I can get it from.

We then strolled back round to the front, it was to be another 1 ½ hours before the fireworks were due and even wrapped up in sweatshirts, trousers and coats we were freezing, hands were numb, so we decided to leave and come back for the fireworks another night. Stopped off for some petrol on the way back 12 gallons for $18.00. Got a snack from the hotel deli and went back to the room for a nice hot cup of tea! And a very hot bath to thaw out.

Thoughts. Shows how temperamental the weather can be in the sunshine state at times. The weather was 57 today with some very strong winds going across Epcot which were at time difficult to walk against and the trees were bending right over. Forcast for overnight temp is 32 brrrrrr……

Its shocking when it rains so much in Florida ~ Might as well be in Britain.

Glad you still managed to have a good time.
