If I have a room only ressie that gets paid when you check in, if something happens (serious) and we have to leave early and not stay the full amount of days paid for...does Disney refund the days not used on the room or do you forfeit the money on the unused room for the remaining days?

Also, can we ADD no expiration to our park tickets even if we started using them, but had to interrupt our vacation?
TIA

I am not positive about the room, but I think once you have paid, they keep the entire amount, I am not posative though, never had to leave mid trip.

And yes, you should be able to upgarde the park tickets to no-experation. We stayed around the hotel a few days and changed them to NE the day we left.

I hope this helps.

If you have trip insurance and the cancellation is for a "covered reason", then the trip insurance company would refund the amount. In most cases, hotels can keep the prepaid amount...I think it is a case by case decision, whether they refund your amount!

Trip insurance IMO is so worth it! It usually covers car rental damage plus baggage delay and lost bags as well.

Disney doesn't offer trip insurance for "room only" ressies, only on packages.

I would think if it were extenuating circumstances they would refund the money. I have read here where they did that for other people.

Call and ask. However I think they refund on a room only for an early check out. (Saying if paid the remaining amount at check in, and ended up leaving how ever many nights early for whatever reason.)
I am sure it happens a lot due to illness, and etc.

Just because Disney does not offer it does not mean it's not available. Go to insuremytrip.com and you can compare various vacation insurance policies. My recommendations are for Travelguard and Travelex, they both have different policies for different needs and both also offer an option where children are free.

I never said it wasn't avail, it just isn't offered through Disney. I see no reason for it with a room only, unless you are going on an extended trip, but that is just me.

If it is a "room Only" reservation paid (besides the deposit) at the front desk, then Yes you can recieve a refund. If you paid for six days and only stay four days, you can get the money back on the remaining two days. If you have spent a lot on meals, merchandise, or other incidentals, you may not have a have a lot of credit left. But whatever is left over of what you paid at the resort can be refunded to you or your credit card (depending on how you paid it.

Any monies paid to a travel agent before arrival (even the Disney Reservation Center) cannot be refunded to you at the Front Desk. If you had a package, especially with tickets and dining, those are not refundable to the resort. Most travel agents will not give you any refund. You can try after you get home to see if you can talk the agent into some sort of refund. But usually you will not have luck. This is really when Travel Insurance can come in most handy.
