Trip Insurance? ?

Insurance just for airfare? For SW, I say no, because you can cancel at any time and get a credit to use at another time. If you are talking about insurance for your whole trip (hotel, etc), you can probably get cheaper insurance through insuremytrip.com.

Agree I probably wouldn't get it just for airfare although check SWA's cancellation policies. I bought some but that was after I rented DVC points (non-refundable) and am planning on buying tickets early. I went through insuremytrip as well.

Sorry to hijack the thread here, but I have a question.

I just bought Allianz insurance for our entire trip and I have paid all required deposits for Universal, DCL, WDW.

My question is should I have waited to buy insurance until I pay everything in full? I read somewhere that the time to buy trip insurance is after paying in full because anytime before that you may cancel and have deposits returned and not be out the money I paid unnecessarily for insurance. Our full payments aren't due until August and anything can change between now and then.

I have 10 days to cancel, should I cancel now and pick it up later?
Thank you.

The downside to waiting is that many insurance companies won't pay for pre-existing conditions unless you but it within a few days of initial deposit.

I was already about 30 days past that date unfortunately. Does it makes since then to cancel and purchase later?
