Trip insurance

I bought trip insurance through AIG (Disney recommended) for our upcoming trip. We are staying in a 2 BR at BWV and they would only insure the trip for for $960 which makes it about $5 per point. Has anyone else had this experience? It would cost so much more than that to do a cash reservation or even to rent points. That amount barely covers our annual dues. Of course, I am not planning on canceling my trip but I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old, and a 5 month old so sickness is definitely not out of the question. Has anyone else found a better way to do this?

That's all you get on DVC points. It depends on what you pay (ie DVC points = $5 a point). If you pay the cash, you insure that amount.
