Trip Insurance??

We are sending friends to WDW during spring break using our points. Can we buy trip insurance on the points they are using or do they have to purchase it? Can they? How does all of that work? Obviously we have not used this option before. . .

Do you recommend the insurance? How many of you use it?

The DVC Member would need to purchase the trip insurance offered by Travel Guard. The information will be included with your ressie confirmation. They are the only company I have heard of that covers DVC points. They reimburse only $5 per point though.

I only purchase travel insurance for unusual circumstances, and only for medical and baggage coverage such as for my European trip last summer.
