we booked the med. cruise when the prices came out last yr

now we may have to cancel since were planning on moving

PIF is 5-4-17 so to get my deposit back we need to cancel before then

but now Im looking into trip insurance that lets you cancel for any reason

our CC has trip insurance but only for covered reasons such a illness

so is there such an insurance that will let you cancel for almost any reason

I would hate to cancel then something falls through with the house selling/buying and we dedcide to stay

where we are

so any advice or tips on this type of insurance would be greatly helpful

thanks

The one I've used through disney was cancel for any reason, but you only got back 75% in the form a DCL credit. Worked great the time we had to use it. Also, it only covered Things booked through Disney, which worked for us, but might not help you if you have European flights booked as well.

The other thing to remember on cancel for any reason is that it usually has to be purchased within 14 days of deposit or it is outrageously priced.

There are insurance policies with "cancel for any reason" coverage -- it may or may not provide full reimbursement or just partial. You will need to contact the insurance directly to ask if cancel or delay related to moving would be covered and what %. It may be hard to purchase, or expensive to purchase, close to the PIF date. They may require you to prove that you don't currently have a conflict scheduled at the time insurance is purchased (as in, you don't have closing planned for the week of your cruise).

DCL insurance doesn't actually have "cancel for any reason" coverage, but if the insurance denies your claim then DCL will offer a credit of 75% to be used within a specified period of time.

Enjoy your cruise!

Yes -- and within 14 days to cover pre-existing conditions. We purchased cancel for work reasons this last time just in case.

I purchased a 'cancel for any reason' policy (DH is deployed and there is a *slight* chance he might not be back in time) for our upcoming EBPC cruise. I had to purchase it within 30 days of booking but it wasn't horrible. The added bonus is that it also covers pre-existing medical conditions as well, which is important if you or a member of your travel party has a medical emergency during your vacation. The expenses are covered. Most people don't think about this, but a family member had such an issue while vacationing abroad and it, literally, saved them from financial ruin. (Remember, just about every medical facility you would encounter - even your ship's medical facility is considered "Out of Network" if you decide to file a claim with your employer-subsidized medical insurance. Mine only covers 80% allowable charges leaving my on the hook for the other 20%).

My policy is through C&F Travel International (found them through USAA.) Be sure to keep EVERYTHING. The policy binder, your cruise documents, any receipts/documentation for covered expenses (if you miss your flight, medical expenses) and even an internet-printed weather forecast/radar if your trip is interrupted due to weather. They do and will cover you for nearly any reason, but they will try and find any small loophole to try and not pay. That's just insurance companies for you...
