Trip extended

So we should have left two days ago but our daughter had a seizure after her character dining lunch at Ariel's.

Can't praise Disney medics enough. One even presented her with a Belle doll.

Sadly, Qantas would not let us fly and cancelled our flight for a min of 24 hours and then we had to provide a medical clearance before we could even book another flight!

Well today we got the clearance (the hospital experience is worth a trip report of its own! Valet carparking at the ER department & food!) sent to qantas. First flight available is the 20th! So good news is we get to stay longer bad news is $5200 on top of what we had already paid! Also, we need to pay now and wait for claim to be approved via travel insurance as they need to consult with Emma's normal dr at home. Ouch!

So we are here but what I wanted to say is the Disneyland Hotel & Conceirge staff have been FANTASTIC. Nothing has been too much for them. They have heavily discounted room cost and not charged for conceirge because of the circumstances. I can't praise them or thank them enough. More updates to come.

What a shame your holiday has ended this way. I am glad to hear though that your daughter is ok and you all can return home. Its great that you have been treated so well and that you have been taken care of which would have helped with the unexpected delay and the stresses that come along with it. Such a shame that you are out of pocket until they will pay the claim.

Thank you. It will be fine but will post a special trip report on the ER visit! I thought Disneyland was a culture shock! The ER was a different world. It will be funny but will do when I get back.

Hi - we found Disney really good too when DH had a medical prob last trip (Disneyworld) They really look after you.

More importantly, how are you all going now? I'm thinking that you would be getting ready to leave soon. I'm sure you'll have a good flight home.
