I want to thank everyone who answered my questions before my first trip. Also, thanks for this forum in general as it is a great resource. So, belatedly I have gotten my trip blog updated with Disneyland entries and I'm here to share with others. Wanted to note, the Grand Canyon diorama was added in 1958 and the Primeval world (dinosaurs) was added in 1966. Primeval world was at the worlds fair first, then brought to Disneyland.

Thanks everyone. I had a really good birthday at Disneyland and in hindsight I can't believe it took me so long to go there! I had been to WDW a number of times, but there is something about the small compact size and number of rides I can do at DL that is just charming and quaint. I really liked it and though the same in concept, it is completely different than anything WDW in Orlando.

Thanks for the info! Incredible! I couldn't believe with all the reading I did before our visit that this caught me completely by surprise. I don't ever remember reading anything about it beforehand.

In any event, it was a real treat and if I had known about them I would have made a special point of riding that train from Tomorrowland to Main Street just to see those dioramas and animatronic dinosaurs.

I know, I had read about people getting pixie dusted but I never expected it myself. I still can hardly believe it. It was a special day!
