Just got back early this morning from a combo business/pleasure trip. A few observations, first this is the 3rd time I have used Delta's rapid check in for e-tickets and each of the 6 trips to the podium have ended with something going wrong. Seems like printing a receipt is way hard at OIA and recognizing two people with same credit cards that did not purchase tickets together at Dulles is tough. Nothing too serious but just annoying enough when travel has become hard already. Second minor complaint, tunnel at OIA to parking garage is still closed, another inconvenience. Third as Avis has reduced full time rapid check-in staff it is just a little harder to leave car off. None of these alone would be too bad but when you add them up it is just enough to set a bad tone.
Good news is that we got to go to the Annual Passholders Tower of Terror special night on Friday 3/14. I would guess around 400-500 people. Road TOT several times and R&R twice. Did manage to get a Passholder shirt, only a few were available when we were there.
High point of trip was Saturday at Epcot when I tried to buy the new passholder special pin at Emporium in the Land. 2 CM's could not find any, they thought maybe they were sold out. Another CM working the ressie booth for the tours called me over and went into his drawer and gave me a 2002 Passholder pin! I thought this was very special. We did get the TOT pins at the Magic Kingdom (Exposition Hall) later on.
Crowds were a little larger than I expected with some major rides having + 60 minute waits, but not too bad overall. Weather was great, low-mid 80's and only 1 rain shower.
