I was awake at 5:30 a.m. Only three more days! Waaaa. On today's menu was Typhoon Lagoon for the morning and my second E-Ticket event during the evening. With the temperature cruising on up to the low 90's, I was looking forward to my second visit to TL.
After having breakfast and writing my trip report from yesterday, I was off around 9:30. TL was more crowded than during my first visit but still not too bad. I went to the nearly empty wave pool and stayed there for a while. Then I jumped into the river and rode it over to the shark area. Last year they had a private swim for $20. You got to use compressed air and nearly half the pool was reserved for those that wanted to pay extra. It was really fun but unfortunately, they weren't doing it yet. I contented myself with doing the regular swim twice. By the time I got out the second time, I was really cold. That water is a bit on the nippy side. Then I went over to the slides and rode both of them. The one that uses the yellow tubes had been a problem for me in the past but, for the life of me, I couldn't remember why. It's been several years since I've done it so I gave it a shot. Now I remember why! There's a washboard effect on that side. Not recommended for people with back problems. Then I had lunch and rested on the beach for a while. I left around 12:30.
My back hadn't felt very good all day. I've been having noticeable problems during this trip a carry over from the problems that have been bothering me for the last several months at home. I felt that a visit to the CSR pool God might be helpful so I took a walk over. There were several other people who had discovered the God's benefits and I waited my turn. That pounding water hitting the area of my back that feels like it's got a knife imbedded in it was wonderful. I left there, after doing the hot tub too, feeling 100% better.
Back at the room, a quality nap was in order so I passed out for nearly 2 hours. When I woke up, I decided to walk the Magic Kingdom during E-Ticket night. Being by myself, I figured I wouldn't stay that long. I watched the Preakness and left around 7 p.m.
There was lots of lightning going on but no rain. I brought the video camera with me. The MK was crowded but not as bad as last Saturday. I was finally able to get my 2003 Christmas ornament. The big Christmas store at DTD was out of them but they had them at the little Christmas store in the MK. The start of Spectromagic was still nearly an hour away so I did The Hall of the Presidents. Then, in a moment of insanity, I went on IaSW. Good grief, I even waited in a line to do this ride!
By now, it was almost time for the parade to start so I got a spot in Liberty Square. I also watched the fireworks from there and had an excellent view.
E-Ticket started and I was off to Splash Mountain, which I rode twice. Even though there wasn't anyone waiting, they still made us get off and go around again. Not sure what that was all about. Rode the HM and then went over to Tomorrowland. AE was just starting and I was the last person who got into the show. Then I did Buzz, the Wedway and Buzz again. By now my "I'm not going to stay too long" night had become the next day. It was after midnight so I staggered to the bus. My back had held up better than I could have hoped for. I returned to CSR around 12:30 and it was lights out at 1 a.m.
High Points: The shark swim times 2. Getting my 2003 Christmas ornament. Walking the MK. The fireworks and Spectromagic. The E-Ticket night.
Low Points: The return of the high heat and humidity. Missing the rainbow that appeared after the thunderstorm. The drunk at the CSR bar.
Weird Point: Waiting in line for IaSW.
Best Point: The Mayan God back massager!
