If the weather is ok next month (we're southerners, it needs to be over 70 in the AM for us to feel it's warm enough) we're going to do a day at Blizzard Beach - kids have wanted to go where it's Hot Hot Hot since first seeing the Disney Sing-Along-Songs VHS tapes.

In March, on a weekday that overlaps with local Spring Break schedules, will it be crowded enough that we should get a cabana, or will umbrellas be good enough? How crowded should it be? We've done water parks before - what's the best must-do there for pre-teens?

You'll love Blizzard Beach! I can't see spending the money for a cabana, my family is always in the pool or on slides so it's not worth it. However, if you'll be spending time relaxing at the chairs it might be.

There are a lot of great slides that I'm sure your pre-teens will love. My 11 year old nephew loves the toboggan racers, he always wants to beat us all.

We've only ever done umbrellas; just can't swing the cabanas. Our family adores BB (except DD13 who prefers TL). The must-do for everybody IMO is the Toboggan Racers--the BIG multi-lane slide where you lie on mats. Too much fun!!!! I get a kick out of riding the ski lift too, just for the novelty. We usually just walk up. The family raft ride is also SO much better than at TL. My kids would spend hours at the zipline; their hearts may break when they realize they're both (I think) now too tall :(. We like to ski, so we just love the theming there. Go have a blast!!

Thanks for all the responses! Is there a height maximum for the zipline area? Middle Child is about five feet tall and he'll be miserable if we've waited too long for him to be able to go....

I think it's 60", which DD is now too :(

But there's still TONS to do there; it's a great WP!

Can anyone comment on the Spring Break crowds at BB? Late March, Early April? Do people stay away because it isn't that warm yet or is it crazy crowded like the rest of the parks?
