Tried to book AKL concierge for Thanksgiving and....

they only had "pool view" left???? I wasn't aware that they assigned these before arrival....

so I booked BWI.....

Gf-no rooms

It is still early, it always changes!!! there will be cancelations ..it always seems to happen!

If that's so, maybe we will get our first choice, which was WL!!! Should I call back every week or so???? If people change their minds as often as we do....

I always do...ex: this trip I had wanted to stay at the WL ...with an AP rate, long story short..they did not have it for me 1 week out...but they did 2 weeks out, it comes and goes. Now when I was at the Beach Club last week...from MK I called and (decided last mintue to try for 3 nites there...) I got the WL the day before I was going to tranfer over! from my experiances....it always does. because for various reasons, rooms may be booked out for TA's and or AAA...etc. then rooms let up! I say if that is what you really want....just make a comittment to call once a day in the moring till you get what you want!

This is a big part of the reason why I've used Dreams Unlimited on my past few vacations. They will take care of the phone calls to check on both availability and discounts. Of course, you might not mind doing that yourself. I always had to remind myself though and with DU, they are all about Disney, so they seemed to be right on top of things.

We typically wait until 1-2 months before we want to go to book our AP discounted rooms. I really think that when so many people go ahead and book rooms so far out in advance, things change (money's tight, etc.) and the closer the date gets, the more people bail out on their reservations. We've even received a discounted rate at AKL one week before we planned on arriving. If you stick with it, you'll get the resort you want with the room you want at the rate you what!! Good luck!

I am not counting on any discounts as this is thanksgiving weekend (thurs, Fri, and Sat night), but I am going to keep checking as we really want WL!!!!! The funny part is that WL is about $100 cheaper a night!!!!
