we are fairly new to the dvc. the past 3 years we have tried to stay in different villas in nov. but each year the only available rooms they have the week we are going are in saratoga springs or key west. we would love to try the boardwalk or beach club. we are going nov. 5th-9th, then on to the cruise. does anyone have any suggestions or tricks of the trade to have a better chance of obtaining a room in bw or bc ? :grouphug: :cheer2:

You don't say if you own points (and if so where?) or if you are renting points. If you own, are you calling on the first day of availability or waiting?

I wish I could say I did... that will be a difficult time at BWV or BCV because of Epcot's Food & Wine Festival. From what I have heard, both resorts are packed with members during those times. Your best bet, tho, is to see if a standard view studio at BWV is available.

Good luck!

If you are a DVC member, you should definitely check at exactly 7 months and use the waitlist after booking first at your home resort.

You can also check on the Rent/Trade Board to try to have BWV or BCV points transferred into your account so you could make your own reservation at one of thoise resorts at 11 months.

If you are renting, you'll want to check 11 months (or more) in advance to see if another member can assist with a rental.

Good luck!

It seems Studios are the hardest to get at the 7 mos mark. I had no problem getting a 1 bedroom for Oct at BVC. I also could of gotten a 1 bedroom at BVC on Memorial Day Weekend. We choose to go to SS since it is only for 3 days and we wanted to go to our home resort for our 1st trip as members

The trick to wait listing is telling them to split the reservation by indivual days. So you don't need a whole week to become available. You can pick up M and T on one day (from other peoples cancellations) and then W and R from another reservation.

The BCV is really tough but the BWV is wonderful and you should be able to get in there.

My home resort is OKW, but I'm looking to stay in a 2 Bedroom at VWL in October 2007 for 7 nights. Do you think since VWL is not near Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival that I won't have a problem getting the 2 Bedroom at the 7 month window or would you suggest I have VWL points transferred into my account so I can make my own reservation at the 11 month window. How does transferring those points into my account work? Do I transfer my OKW points to the account of the person giving me his/her VWL points?

You might be fine at 7 months if you are patient and willing to work with the waitlist (it does work very well). To be certain about your specific dates (at a busy time of the year) it might be best to have a reservation made 11 months in advance. Your options there for a non-home resort are to rent a reservation from a VWL owner (you should make the arrangements just before the 11 month priority begins) or have VWL points transferred into your account and make it yourself at 11 months.

There is information on the Rent/Trade Board about how to have points transferred or how to rent from another member.

Good luck! :)
