Trick or Treating on Halloween at DL?

Are there any available options to trick or treat on Halloween night other than the Halloween
Party at DL? Perhaps at Downtown Disney or at the Disney Hotels? We missed out on
getting tickets for the Halloween Party, and now my daughter is devastated that she cant
trick or treat.

Unfortunately, at this point there aren't any indications that DTD or the hotels are going to do anything for Halloween in terms of trick-or-treating. Keep an eye on the Halloween SuperThread to see if any new information comes out closer to Halloween itself.

You could get tickets for the party the night before if you're already there, then she could trick-or-treat the day before. My only other suggestion would be to spend the day at the park, then when you're booted out of Disneyland because the party is starting take your kids to a mall or a local neighborhood where they can trick-or-treat like you would at home.

Supposedly there are CMs at the 3 hotels who hand out candy on 10/31, but I tend to think that it is to onsite guests only. I could be wrong about that, but you may want to check. As figment_jii mentioned, it doesn't appear that anything like that will be happening in DTD either, though that could always change! Just when I think I can predict what is going to happen at DLR or just when it seems there is a pattern -- and sometimes, even after certain info and dates have appeared on official Disney sites -- things still change!! I am always surprised about something every year. So you never know.

Also, I would check the ticket booths while you're there -- on the morning of 10/31, if possible, and even again later in the afternoon -- to see if Halloween party tickets are available. There are sometimes day-of-event tickets for some parties, but you have to get to the booths at the right time to snap them up!
