Trick or Treat Party

Question:

Will they be providing bags for candy or are we better off bringing something that zippers (so we get maximum rides with minimum candy loss).

I'd actually like to know the answer to this as well, me and DLGF will be going for our first time on Oct 31st.

seems like something with a draw string or a zipper would be preferrable, but I don't know if they give out bags or not :confused3

Need some veterans to chime in here *nudge nudge* :goodvibes

From what I have heard, they do hand out bags to everyone, but they are the lightweight plastic (similar to the DLR merchandise bags). I am definitely bringing my own bag.

Hi there!
This is my first post. I am going to DL with my dh and dd (9), dd (6). We're doing the TOT party Oct. 15 too! I'm really excited and just wanted to chime in.

We've never done the TOT party and are looking forward to it. My girls are scaredy-cats (like their mom) and I'm concerned they'll be scared. I know it's Disney, and they know it's all about families, but wanted to see if those who have gone had unhappy little ones.

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you better online! :flower3:

I went the past two years. Last year on Halloween....it was crowded but not unbearable. We didn't really go for the rides as we were there for 3 days already. It was still sooooo much fun!

They do give you bags but they are really small. I learned my lesson from the first year and brought one that I bought from Walmart. It was filled up by the middle of the night and it was a big one!!

Have fun all of you....I'm going to WDW this year for Halloween which is my favorite holiday.....I'm sure I'll be back at DL for next year's party since we live in Vegas!

They do give you bags, we will also be taking bags, the girls have some that have drawstrings on the top that can be worn as backpacks. Yes, it will detract from our costumes but that's ok, we need something to hold our candy! LOL :)

As for it being scary, I didn't think it was scary at all. They do have some villans out but the CMs are really good about taking cues from people and if kids act scared they leave them alone. :) Just a couple weeks for us, I'm super excited!! I ordered my costume last night, woo hoo!!

Well very cool - thank you Kerri! :goodvibes

We'll make sure and bring some bags with us then. It is tricky with bags not detracting from the costume though. We're going to be pirates and I was already wondering what to do with my camera. Looking for a canvas messenger bag of something similar to put the camera and other provisions in.

It is tricky, I don't think Hercules or Meg carried bags with them...LOL But oh well, we are still carrying bags with us! I'll have to put my camera someplace too...hmmmm no pockets in my dress, no pockets on the Hercules costume...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm this could be tricky! LOL

Is it hard to carry around a giant (I'm hoping :rotfl:) bag of candy and still go on the rides? I still have nightmares about the time I lost my purse on Mulholland Madness...

We didn't have any problems last time we went, we didn't to Screamin', the girls did but DBF and I didn't, so we held the candy bags, I think this year we will probably do TSMM while the girls are doing Screamin'. :)

I think it'll be the same for us - hold the bags for the kids or just go on "low impact" rides.

DW and my costumes are pretty involved anyways, just dealing with them is going to be an adventure! I just hope it is a cool night because I tried my outfit on and that sucker got pretty warm :cool2:

I'm hoping it's a little warmer because my dress is halter style and I'll be wearing sandals....LOL I know Meg didn't wear a coat...LOL Altho I might have to.... :)

Well here's to hoping we both get what we want on the nights we are there!

Ive been going to MTTP since DL started it and although the bags arent HUGE, they arent in any ways tiny...the thing I like about it is they dont give you the dumb kind of candy...all of it is really good and we always have candy left over that I end up putting out for trick or treaters on halloween...and say if 3 or 4 of you go, thats a HUGE amount of candy...now if you are candy freaks that is a totally different story lol...last year it was really hot during the day and the night we did the party it was pretty warm...it got cooler as the night progressed but if the weather now is any indication of how its going to be this year, then Im seriously thinking its going to really be cold at night (im from california so anything under 65 is cold for me lol) and a pp asked how many people they let in for the party max? if Im not mistaken I think its 5000 and in that park even sold out its not massive at all...every year DL is doing better and better on the Halloween stuff...Im excited to go..just 3 more weeks:woohoo:

Well that sounds promising. We don't want too much candy - it weighs a bunch and we're flying! Might have to UPS it home :lmao:

65 degrees cold? See that sounds wonderful to me - we're used to rain or frost, or the worst was a really foggy Halloween where you could just see ice crystals swirling in the for while we were out Trick or Treating with the kids. Bring on that 65!!!!

Agreed, I'm so happy to see Disneyland stepping up to the Halloween plate after so many years or WDW doing so many things :)

Amen to that! :)

:goodvibes

Hi, does anybody know if you have to be in a costume to go around and collect the candy. My daughter will be in a costume but me and my sister will not.

Thanks

Nope, there will be plenty of ppl not wearing costumes. If you buy a ticket, you WILL get candy!

Thank You.. thats what I told my sister we paid the same 42.00 as the ones that are wearing a costume and if i'm standing in line with my daughter I might as well take the candy if they offer it. :rotfl:

So where in Oregon are you? I remember the days of the Halloweens so cold you had to wear sweats under your ghost sheet costume.....man I don't miss those at all! LOL 65 doesn't sound cold to you, but live here for a while and you'll change your mind! LOL I do miss the snow, but not enough to move back! LOL

You will get candy, our first ToT party DBF and I did not have costumes and we had NO problems getting our bags just as full as the kids' bags. :)
