I thought it would be fun to share stories of CM's who have made our trips even more magical. It would be a chance to show appreciation for all they do. Here goes:

Years ago when our children were younger and interested in getting autographs from the characters, the Queen of Hearts came to their rescue. They were waiting in line for an autograph and they weren't getting very far. There were other children who would push to the front. The Queen of Hearts sized up the situation. She left the line and came over to my children. Soon the other characters followed. It really made my children feel "special".

One other time we were all on the teacups cutting up and acting riduculous. After the ride the CM came up to us laughing and gave us a pass to go to the front of the line on any ride in Fantasyland. We really enjoyed that.

So to all you CM's - you make a difference!!!

:sunny:

Great idea for a thread! All too often we talk about the bad experiences more than the good.

A couple years ago we arrived at Epcot around 4:00pm, DH, I , and my niece wanted to ride TT. DH & I wouldnt have minded going in the singles line, but since it was my DN's first time on the ride she didnt want to go alone. We debated what to do since there were no FPs left and standby line was long. We felt bad sticking my mother with our kids for an hour while we waited in line. So, while we talked about what to do, 2 CMS approached us. They asked what we would do to skip the line. One CM gave me his broom and said I had to sweep up, but he was kidding. That would have been too easy. ;) In the end, they had us all stand in front of TT and sing the Mickey Mouse Club song. Like idiots, we did it. The CMS even took our video camera to tape it for us. We had more laughs out of that, and got to skip the line. :teeth: Gotta love that Disney Magic.

We have bumped into more CM who were willing to just chat with us and answer questions... it's interesting to hear what they have to go through just to come to work in the morning and prepare to work.... interesting to hear who is the highest paid CM..... They have been so nice and full of information and trivia that they don't mind sharing. You gotta love them!!!!

Last year, I went to Disney and stayed at the BCV. Five minutes after I checked in, my mother called to tell me one of my aunts had passed away. As a result, I had to cut my trip short to get back for the funeral. When I went to the front desk to explain the situation and find out what could be done about getting DVC points back for the days I wouldn't be there now and about arranging the trip back to the airport, the CM at the desk was absolutely wonderful. All I said was, "I have to cut my trip short due to a death in the family." He jumped right in and asked what he could do. He took care of everything for me, from contacting MS on my behalf, apologizing unneccesarily to me when the points could only go in a holding acct. instead of back in the bank, and calling Mears to arrange for the pick up of me and my friends. I made sure to tell his manager how kind the CM has been. After taking down the CM's name to put the kudos on his report, even the manager asked if there was anything else he could do. Both of them made an awful situation so much easier to get through and their sincere and obvious concern really touched me. So I'd like to say a big "thank you" once again to them.

I have a GREAT story that was very recent and STILL brings tears to my eyes. As many of you know, Josh had a kidney transplant in Sept 2003. When we went to WDW in January, he was supposed to have blood draws every other day to ensure that he was doing well. The first one was on the day after we arrived. Although the nurse at home had made arrangements to go to Centra Care, when I called them to have them pick us up, they said they didn't perform the tests we needed. I decided just to go to Celebration Hospital outpatient.

I went to the guest relations desk to find out how to get a cab and Merry (that's what her name tag said!! and it fit her well!) told me to wait a minute. She went in back and came out a few minutes later to tell me that Wilbur, the runner for ASMo, would be picking us up out front in just a few minutes. I was SPEECHLESS!!! Merry then told me to call to be picked up and if their runner was busy, THEY would pay for the cab!!!! HELLLOOOOO???? I thought I must have died and gone to heaven, but it was WDW instead (I think geographically it might be the closest thing!!!) Wilbur was WONDERFUL, talking to us the whole way and ensuring we were in the right place when he dropped us off. When we called for pickup, he was back within 10 minutes. God bless them. They don't know how much all that meant to us. I emailed Disney and told them.

After that, I went directly to the DVC desk. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I HAVE to belong to DVC!!! That's my newest obsession!!

Sorry so long--thanks for reading and hopefully Merry and Wilbur will be rewarded for their kindness.

P.S. After the first blood draw, no more were necessary the ENTIRE vacation!!! It had to be the Disney Magic and Pixie Dust surrounding us from all of you!!! THANK YOU!!!

We have had a special pin made for CM's that make our trips special...We have been giving them out for about 2.5 years...

Here is a link...

Badshoe Thankshoe for CM's

It's been fun giving them out over the years and the CM's really appreciate when there hard work is noticed....

We have had so many great experiences with CM's. Acutally, I can not recall any bad ones right now.

Some of our most memorable..

1. Our Mulan experience, which I have posted so many times. She was so wonderful with our son and made for our most magical trip thus far.

2. Cathy, the Parade Manager at MGM. She was wonderful giving a postcard with a Thank You pin that our son wrote to her before the parade (which she held up for him during the parade:D )

3. Christa, a CM who was with Mulan at MGM. She arranged for some "private time" with Mulan so we could get some family pictures and cry a little before we had to leave and go home.

4. Bob, a CM at MGM Studios. My DH and I were there the first night Fantasmic! opened and it was a special invitation only event but did not have an invitation. He took us right in and we had an amazing time. It was so incredible!!

5. CJ, a DVC CM that was over at WLV. She was so great, filled us in on the upcoming Memeber Event at SSR for the grand opening. She also took this picture below of the 3 of us, which we used for our Christmas cards this year.

They are all so awesome!!!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D
