Trials not accepting simon cc??

I got my simon virtual cc a couple days ago, and I'm ready to roll!!! But....I just tried to sign up to 3 offers. 2 of them wouldn't go thru?! Both Passport to Fun on SR and Cinema Now on CD wouldn't go thru. There was just some generic message, but I'm wondering if it is because of the simon cc. Has anyone else had any trouble using the virtual cc? Not sure why else they would deny me So much for making money today!!!

Did you check your Simon acct. after you tried to sign up? I tried twice to sign up with Passport to Fun yesterday using my Simon card too, but I got the error message both times. Later in the afternoon I checked my Simon balance and lo and behold Passport to Fun charged me the $1 fee twice. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with their Cust. service, they say it should take a few days for the charges to reverse.

HMMM...I have had a couple that have come back, but that was only because they were trying to authorize more then what was available on the card!

Also dont do the at home rewards one, because It will charge your simon card, $16 and still will deny you. So no credit, and will be out 16 bucks!

You will be out $16 for about a week then the charge will be credited back to your simon gift card. The same thing happened to me and it was credited back on monday!

No it credited by itself. I called at home rewards and they had no record of charging me. I read on the TT boards that sometimes the one dollar trials will charge your card 16 dollars to make sure it's active (with the prepaid card it posts right away but you never see it with a regular credit card) and it will credit back in a week. So I waited patiently and that's what happened!

I just checked my simon balance - it was charged $16, then tried to charge $16 again and it was declined because I only put $30 on the card to begin with. Those appear to be from Passport to Fun. Then CinemaNow tried to charge $29.95 TWICE and it was declined because I didn't have enough on the card. So if I had put a larger amount on the card, I would have been charged $91.90 today for signing up for 2 offers!! I'm sure glad I'm doing these on the virtual cc!!! Guess I'll hold out for now and see if they credit them back to the cc. I have a feeling I won't be getting credit for either though, since I didn't receive actual confirmations for them. Seems like they're scamming us so they still get their money, but don't have to pay the rewards (not directed at SR and CD, but at the offer companies). Not a good first day for trying trial offers....

There are not scamming you. Pending holds are a very common thing. They Want to make sure your credit card will have the available funds. They drop off after a few days. They week I went crazy and did a ton of offers I had over $150 in pending holds and they all dropped off. For example Celebrity fit club puts a hold for $58.00. Gatta play charges you their monthly free and than issues a credit after you cancel. There are a bunch more that do it but I cant think of them.

Cinema Talent tried a second time since it didn't work the first. They may be able to turn around and not give the reward site owner credit since technically they offer wasn't complete.

The passport to fun and they others similar to it I never had more than $1.oo charged or held.

But how can they be charging me when they said I couldn't participate in their program?! On both the passport to fun and the cimena now (not talent) I entered my info and on the last page was told I didn't qualify. I can understand getting that message from Cinena Now if they think I don't have a valid cc since the charge couldn't go thru, but how about getting charged from passport? And now I'm assuming I am in their systems so I won't be able to try these offers again, right? Ugh. This makes my head hurt. Maybe I'll just have to sit back, relax, and cross my fingers that something will go thru....

It credited back, just like ya said!! WOO HOOOO!! Thanks, If ya wouldnt of told me, I would have just left that card alone. lol. A few others credited back, and now I have $19 back on my simon card. YAY! Thanks!
