What effects will this have on park attendance? Does Epcot close down? Are the crowds highly effected? Thanks.

Are you talking about the one in September?

If you are...I wouldn't expect too much disruption. There are a lot of big events that are held at WDW and some people hardly ever notice them unless they are right in the middle of it.

I heard that they were changing part of the course to be over by Epcot. Maybe avoiding Epcot that day would be a good idea.

Are you planning on being at WDW during this time?

If this is the same one as last September, stay far away from the Contemporary! We were staying there at the Tower on MK side and watched it from our room. We rented a car and couldn't get it out of the parking lot for the day. We also saw all the buses and cars trying to get in or out. They were stuck in traffic for a really really long time. People were getting off the buses and cabs in the street and walking to the Contemporary. It seemed to take a longer time for the buses to/from the other resorts to get to the MK also because of traffic.

We had no idea the triathalon was being held until they started setting it up the day before. We also had no warning about how difficult it would be to come and go. If we had known beforehand we would have stayed at another resort.

Last September's Triathalon was the Danskin Triathalon - I know because I did it. It was held at the Magic Kingdom (swim in the seven seas lagoon, bike behind the MK, run thru the MK). The event was mostly completed, save a few stragglers, as the park opened (The event started at Sun-up)
