Although the new TREX restaurant was very nice and the food was great, it scared the daylights out of my 3 year old son.
The place is extremely loud and crazy. It makes the Rainforest look like a church.
Service was fast, food came out fast and they DID NOT rush you to leave even though there are hundreds of people waiting to get in outside.

We went on Saturday night at 6:15 and we sat down at 7:30ish.

Food: Onion ring appetizers, Ribs, Shrimp skewers, ice age (ice cream sandwich dessert is awesome)

THIS PLACE WILL SCARE LITTLE KIDS........

I would give it another try after the BUZZ wears off...I would request the ice room or the room next to it for a more peaceful dinner with little ones.

This is the second review I have seen that states that toddlers may find the place frightening due to the dark and noisy meteor shower show and roaring dinosaurs.

I'm going to move this over to our restaurant review board.

We have a RFC in our local mall and for years my niece LOVED going there (I can now bribe her to go to a 'real food' place:lmao: ). However, we could not sit near anything that moved. She would freeze and not move and it was not happening. Anything in the middle was fine or near the fish tanks. (we have been taking her to RFC since she was 6 weeks old)

This was up to the age of about 7. And this is a child that went to Disney the first time at 3 and loved all the characters and still does :lovestruc a girl after my own heart

so i can see that, by the description of this place, how it would terrify many many kids of different ages. So while it seems geared towards kids, it sure isn't geared to little ones. too loud and overwhelming.

Can't wait til our next trip though, I really want to check it out for myself

thanks to hte OP for sharing their experience :thumbsup2

We ate at T Rex for lunch this past week. My 3 year old loved it! We sat in the first room with the big dinos. MY 6 year old thought it was really cool. I will say my 3 year old likes big rides too. He just turned 3 in August and especially liked the meteor shower.

I agree. It just depends on the child. Our neighbors ate there last week and they have a 2 and 4 year old and they said that their boys loved the T-Rex restaurant.

Alot of people are saying that it will scare toddlers. So we are skipping it. Thanks for the review.

If you have toddlers that you think might be upset by the noises, ask to be seated in the Fern Forest. Full of Dinos, but the ceiling is a canopy of trees, so you really don't get much flashing lights, and the sound of the meteor shower sounds more like a mild thunderstorm outside. Growling beasts but no terror! I hope this tip helps somebody to enjoy the restaurant with their little guys.

I have a 9 1/2 year old who is dying to eat at this place next month. I also have 2 year old twins:scared1: If we do end up there, I'll remember about the Fern Forest room...thanks!!
