Trevor's Star Wars Make A Wish trip

HURRAY FOR DATES!!!!!!! Soo exciting!! So what have you planned for sure so far?

Yes, for all 3 MRIs he was under general anesthesia. Soon our insurance won't pay for the anesthesia because of his age. We'll have to get it pre-approved to have it covered.

Be sure to keep your eye out for us on the 7th. We will probably be there bright and early.

There should be plenty of glasses, t's, etc. Last year anything with the year on it that wasn't a limited item or specialty item was discounted the last weekend. So you may just get a deal.

That is great you may have the option to add a day at SWW if you need it.

Hurray for dates! Are you going to do something special to reveal their dates?

Glad the stress test went well. Whew for long legs. He looks like quite the trooper and that it takes some good coordination to do the test.

Continuing to pray about the MRI and surgery. He's in really good hands having it done at a Children's hospital. We drove to All Children's in St. Pete for JJ's MRI because other MRI centers and even another hospital wouldn't take him because of the seizures in his sleep. I was worried about the test and the anesthesia. They were more worried about him getting a sick stomach on the way home. He was fine both at the hospital and the drive home all three times he had it done there.

The first time there was an emergency and our appointment was delayed 3 hours. That anticipation was hard on all of us. Plus because of the general anesthesia he had to be NPO and couldn't even have a sip of water. So after that I scheduled him as their first patient of the day for the subsequent ones.

Gotta love dealing with insurance :rolleyes2 Hopefully your docs will be able to get it approved with no problems! We will look for you guys. The boys can talk Star Wars :)

I am thankful that Children's hospital is close to us. Although in traffic it can take an extra hour just get to there!

That is awful when you have to make your child wait and they can't have anything to eat or drink. That happened with Kara since the other surgeries had run later than anticipated. It was almost noon by the time she got in. Luckily Trev has always been first case so there has been no delay. But now that he is older I don't think we will get so lucky. They always have the youngest go first.

HURRAY FOR DATES!!!!!!! Soo exciting!! So what have you planned for sure so far?

We are flying on a red eye so the first day we will most likely hang out at GKTW and take it all in and rest for the week ahead. Trev's wish will be on the 7th when we do SWW. Other than that we are coming up with lists of things we want to do but haven't gone much farther than that yet.

Trev wants to see everything of course! We are trying to explain that we can only see part of it and he needs to decide what is most important to him. The only thing Allie and Kara care about is meeting Ariel and the SW characters. I really want to see Harry Potty world. The other things on our list so far are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Sea World. We are thinking of maybe going to the Kennedy Space Center. Of course I want to see it all as I have never been to Florida either!

We are so excited to be going on our first family vacation as a family of 5. We went on one when Trev was 2 to the Ocean for a couple nights and of course he does not remember that :) That is another thing that would be cool would be to go to the beach in Florida. I am sure it is much nicer than the Pacific Ocean with its rocky beaches.

So many things we want to do and so little time. At least we have 4 months to figure it out :)

[/QUOTE]

The wish grantors are going to set up the reveal. We are going to have it at our house so we can invite more than 3 people :) They are looking into having the 501st Legion come in Star Wars characters. Hopefully they can the kids would absolutely LOVE IT!!

The wish grantors said they will discuss it more in detail as we get closer to leaving. It will take place about 2 weeks before we leave. I'm sure whatever they do will be magical!

Hi! I have been lurking for awhile and just had to say that it is great that you finally have dates for your trip. My DH works at DHS and is a huge SW fan, so if you have any questions or need any help feel free to ask. He looks forward to SWW every year and knows all kinds of crazy info about it.

He is such a cutie!! All of those wires and tests, he looks so brave! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more about all your planning. I know a few months ago we said maybe we would get our dates the same time! Almost!! ;)

Thanks! I've had some wonderful people on here share info with me and I'm sure I'll have more questions as it gets closer :) That is awesome that he works there. When I was younger I always wanted to move down to California so I could work at Disneyland. Now I just wished I lived close enough I could visit whenever I wanted :) This is a first to DisneyWorld and there is SO much to do and see it is almost overwhelming!

Thanks :) He was AMAZING through the whole thing! We explained now that he is 7 this will become part of his routine too. He thought it was pretty cool wearing all that gear! Let's see what he thinks when he is a teenager having to do this :) We did get our dates almost the same time... I was secretly hoping SWW would be moved up a little and we could go when it wasn't so hot... But that's OK, we are going to Disney World... EEK!!

We have been talking about it since last May so it starting becoming more of something that was just talked about not that we were really doing it... Now we have dates and confirmation at GKTW and we will be getting our flight info by the end of the month! Wow! It is really happening :)

Too bad you miss each other. We will be there June 8. Please say hello if you see us.

Yeah was hoping it would be same weekend...oh well...

I assume you guys will be there sat and sunday too? I have been reading thru your PTR and last year report but I didnt comment on last year cause I just found it lol...but we will be sure to say hi if we see you...maybe my DS can entertain your DS in line (like the girl did last year :) )

I have read a few wishtrip reports and it seems like GKTW is totally awesome and that you should make sure you plan time for that.

I think I have read that they give you 3 days to disney and 2 to universal...or is it 4 and 2...seems like you would at least need 4...

have you checked out easywdw to pick your park days?

We get 3 days in Disney (1 will be used at HS for SWW for sure) and 2 to Universal and 1 day in Sea world.

We will be flying a red eye and arrive in Orlando about 6:30am so we plan to stay at GKTW that whole day and explore and try to rest up to be ready on Monday. That 3 hour time difference will be hard to adjust too! I'm sure we will spend more time at GKTW too. So many things to see and do and so little time!

I have checked out some sights to pick park days. Not sure if that was one of them. I'll check it out. Thanks!

We're coming in at 7 am for our trip. We were definitely looking at spending that day at GKTW, too. The only problem I foresee is the room not being ready until awhile after we've arrived. The girls are going to jump into the pool, swimming suits or not!

I thought of the rooms not being ready too... I figured we could go eat breakfast and explore a little before getting our rooms. Swimming first thing is a great idea! I will have to remember to pack their swimsuit on their carry on so they can quickly change into them that morning.

3 days at Disney, 2 at Universal, and 1 at Sea World is a good variety of parks.

We have annual passes to those parks too, but don't go very often. There is a new penguin building opening up at Sea World, but I don't remember the date. Hopefully before you get there.

Arriving at 6:30am will be so early with the time change. Will your room be ready that early?

Touring Plans has a blog post about which days are best at each of the parks including some of the parks other than Disney. I thought i had the link saved, but I don't.

Both Universal and Sea World have all day meal plans. We don't usually stay a whole day. But if we are going to be there for 2 meals we often get the meal deal. Sea World's includes beverages, Universal's doesn't, if I remember correctly.

Not sure if the room will be ready or not when we arrive. Maybe the kids will fall asleep on the drive to GKTW and take a little nap:) either we arrive super early or later in the evening.
Thanks for the info on the dining plans!

One of Trevs friends just got back from DW and did pin trading. It is time to find my old pins from DL over 10 years ago. We'll see if the girls go ahead with it...

I made two reservations for chef Mickey. That gives us time to figure out which day we will go. The girls have decided they only want to only meet the good guys from Star Wars and the princesses. Trev of course wants to meet everyone...

My dad has the time off work so he is good to go! I'm so happy he gets to come with is! Now it will be one on one with the kids :)

Jackie

Recommend not going to Magic Kingdom on Monday - that's always the most crowded day.

Remember to cancel the unwanted Chef Mickey's at least 24 hours in advance. I imagine they put a hold on your CC for $10 per person?

I think we are going to do SeaWorld on Monday and ease the girls I to characters and rides :) we were thinking Magic Kingdom either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yes! I put it on my calendar on my phone to remind me to cancel one a couple days before :) that would be bad if we forgot to cancel one! Yup. There is a hold on the CC.

We have a list of things we want to do at GKTW. Of course this could change on a daily basis :)

Horse back riding and the carousal are a must for all 3 kids! And of course how could we forget lots and lots of ice cream... My favorite part :) The girls want to go to the spa because of course 4 year olds MUST be pampered :) They would have me change their nail polish every day if I let them... Trev wants to try out mini golf. I think it would be fun for the whole family... I wonder how 2 four year olds would be with clubs:eek:

They really want to do Candyland but that is the day we arrive after a red eye flight and with the 3 hour time difference I don't know if they will be able to stay up that late nor do I know if I want them too. I am hoping that after the very LONG day they will fall asleep early and wake up early (well early to us anyway) and we can head out to Sea World that next day.

The other thing they want to do is Christmas at GKTW. Of course they want to swim and play on the playground too. I wonder how much time we will actually spend at the parks :)

So last night the girls informed me when they grow up they are both going to be Ariel.... Evidently Daddy will turn into Prince Eric and they will marry Prince Eric... Oh yeah and they said I have to make their hair red so they can be Ariel when they grow up :)

Jackie

Yikes! I don't anticipate spending THAT much time at GKTW. Plus there is no way Trev would let us miss his Star Wars day or Allie and Kara would miss out on meeting princesses :)

Trev's MRI is on Wednesday. He will be under general anastesia. That is the part that worries me the most. We should have results in a couple weeks from that test and last weeks stress test. Praying for no surgery this year! I know he needs a valve but hopefully he can hold off until his teenage years. I think 2 surgeries for Kara this year are enough :)

Jackie

Hope Trev does fine this week, and tests all come back fine. You guys have had enough this year.
