Treehouse Villas Waitlist -- Chances?

I tried to book for January. I thought it was far enough out, but they were booked for the 1/3-1/10 and the following Sunday through Thursday. So I waitlisted for both weeks.

Any idea what are the chances this migiht come through? I have waitlisted before with success every time, but there are so few units. Any opinions?

Also, can I book another property, just in case it doesnt' come through, and then cancel the original if the waitlist comes through? How would that work?

No idea if your waitlist will work. Those dates include marathon weekend, though, so it's possible that only one or two of the nights are the real problem.

Yes - by all means, book something else now. It can be canceled if the waitlist comes through. Just tell the CM when you book the back up that you want the back up reservation canceled if the waitlist works. He/She will make a note on your existing waitlist. Many many members book something in case a waitlist doesn't' come through.

If you do book a backup, there are few things to think about. If the backup requires more points than the THV, if the waitlist comes through, you will be left with points that may be too late to be banked or that become holding points if your THV waitlist comes through 30 days or less out.

We waitlisted the AKV for our last trip (glad we didn't get that waitlist, though - that's another story) and we were already booked at BCV. If the waitlist had come through, we would have been left with points that could not be banked (less than four months to the start of the UY). So we canceled it outright.
