We wake up at 3:30 a.m. as usual for our first night and toss and turn, but who cares we are on a disney holiday and we love our rituals. We decide as we are up early to take advantage of early magic hour and luck would have it it is the day of animal kingdom which is another first day family tradition.

The plan for our first week is to go to the parks very early and do all our favorites and new rides first thing then go back to the Treehouse and then go out to dinner. We will return the week after with our friends who have only had a brief experience of Disney a few years ago when they did a couple of parks but not gone into great detail and I am to show them the proper magic.

We get in the park for rope drop and rush off to Expedition Everest we get fastpasses and do the ride straight away. The backwards bit does make me feel a wee bit sick. We rush off and do Dinosaur which is a fav ride of mine. We walk back via Hester and Chesters and Kirsty and Mark do Primevil Whirl. I sit it out as the last time I went on this I said it would be the last time!!

We are feeling peckish and as we usually have breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe when we are in Animal Kingdom we go there.

En-route we find Miss Bunny and as this is a first get a photo

It has not been open long and is pretty empty. We order two Pie of the Vipers for me and Mark and cha cha wild waffles for Kirsty but our server says we will never get through it all (she obviously has not met me before) we go for one Pie of the Viper and a Tonga Toast instead.

We actually don't manage it all but I make a blooming good try

I even take a photo of the ladies as it is pretty cool

We leave really full up and I guess I have to leave the return to Everest to Mark and Kirsty as I have eaten too much.

After this we do my favourite trek and go and see the bats. Just love these bats and am looking forward to coming back next week with our friends.

We then do the Kali Rapid ride and get soaking wet. As usual I buy a dress to change into (when will I remember to bring a spare?) I buy a lovely black dress with safari mickey heads on it. (Yay I love Disney dresses).

The park is getting busy so we go off to buy supplies from Winn Dixie. I get diet coke to go with my vodka and some pina colada drinks. I also buy a TGIF Mudslide mix and Mark gets bud with touch of lime. We go back to the Treehouse to chill

My photos of the Treehouse do not do it justice and I did not take a photo of the wonderful wet room with the bath and walk in shower which I am missing very much. As usual the washing machine and dyer come in very handy.

I have managed not to take a photo of the master bedroom or the one with bunk beds

We decide that we will take it easy tonight and we go and get pizzas from Pappa John and have drinks on the terrace. It is the most relaxing place in the world and am so pleased that I have booked it again for next March/April.

Oh Sue, you make me so very excited, did Papa John deliver right to the Treehouse xx

Jules, Disney do deliver Pizza direct to the Treehouse and you just press a button on the phone but we tried one last year and we find them a bit heavy so we went to the papa john's next to Winn Dixie.

You really do feel in the middle of the forest but with all the luxury. They are not as spaced out as I imagined and I don't think of the villas are too far away from the pool etc. I love Saratoga Springs Resort but would stay here always if I had enough points.

Espeically love the ice machine in the fridge!

fab day and I love your new dress :goodvibes

A lovely first day Sue, I nearly bought that dress too ::yes::

I look forward to your next installment :)

Sounds like a great day! The treehouse looks lovely! I like your new dress. :)

I can't see the photos right now as I'm at work but just reading your descriptions makes me wish we were staying here on our next Bad Mothers trip. We idd broach the idea of a split stay (Beach Club and Treehouse) with DH but he reckons it's too much for a week (we are cruising for our second week) so I think the Treehouses may have to wait for a while (possibly Sep 2012 :sad2:)

Great first day Susan :thumbsup2

Love the Treehouses. We got to look around one just before they opened (thanks to Vernon) so I'd really like to stay in one some time in the future.

Glad to see you kept up your ritual of first night at Raglan Road in yesterday's report!

Joh, I guess the good thing about DVC is there is always another time. (Well it keeps me going anyhow)

Susan

Just seen the pictures - I'm really going to try and persuade Gary on that split stay now :thumbsup2

Oh Susan, inside looks every bit as good as I thought it would, fantastic day and great photos:goodvibes
