Its just me, Mark and Kirsty this morning (we have agreed to meet Vicky and Des by the Hulk at 11.30) so up bright and early to go to Harry Potter Land. Very strangely for me, I had done very little work in researching this new land. I have never read any of the books and could never actually stay awake and watch a whole Harry Potter film, so this could be the reason but I guess I was just so excited to be going to the Treehouse that Harry Potter seemed to have taken a backseat. The thing is we did not really know about Forbidden Journey (in fact I have only found out it is called that since we have got home, we called it THE Harry Potter Ride). We enter the park the extra hour early and rush to the new land, but instead of going to Forbidden Journey we go on the old duelling dragons (in fact I stood it out) (will ride it next year though hopefully)
We then see everyone queing so of course we join the queue not really knowing what we are queing for. We queue for 30 mins (which is over Mark's usual threshold of 20 mins) and discover the most amazing ride we have ever been on. I do suffer a mild bit of motion sickness but worth it as the ride is sooooooo good, even the queing area is good.
The ride itself is both a roller coaster type of ride and simulator with wet things being squirted. You can't really see the rest of your party when you ride so youngster may feel issolated.
We would like to ride again but the queue is now too huge and we decide to come again tomorrow morning before we fly home.
We can now walk about the land taking in the atmosphere taking photos
The themeing in this land is wonderful
The forbidden journey ride itself is in this amazing castle
By now there are large queues for wands in the shops
We find a fairly short queue for a butter beer
We get one in a souvenier beer glass. It is very sweet but me and Kirsty quite like it.
Universal have done very well as the shops look very quaint
It is now getting very crowded so we leave the land. It is only as we leave the land that we realise how long the queues really are as they go right back into the park. It seems like the only way we really could have gone on this ride without a ridiculous wait was to have stayed at the on-site hotels and got up early as we did.
We decide to ride Jurrastic Park and we get absolutely soaked. As we start to dry out we bump into Vicky and Des so we decide that as we already wet we may as well continue so it is the popeye ride next. A quick photo op before going on Dudley Do Right
We are all soaked from this ride, but my dress has gone completely see through so once again I have to buy another new dress!!! I buy a nice pink and orange one.
Now refreshed and dry (well I am anyway), we then go on the Hulk. This is a first for me and I absolutely love it. I think I should now be able to ride all roller coasters from now on! This experience is particularly nice because the sun is shining and the view of the blue sky and the water is brilliant. I feel very proud of myself, my 9th trip to Universal and finally ride the hulk. I am really happy, I can't stop smiling.
We now split up from Vicky and Des as they are going to try their luck at going to Harry Potter land whilst me Mark and Kirsty are going to try again to get into Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
As it is early lunch time and not evening we are in luck and it is relatively empty.
This is another first for us and we love it.
The cocktails are delicious
I get the glass and the shaker
The food is delicious too. No starters or afters as we are eating at the Hard Rock Cafe tonight. I think this is Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi
We have a great time here and our waiter tells us that a Bubba Gump will open in London soon. We really hope so.
Kirsty wants to go to the Horror Make Up show at the Studios so I agree to take her and arrange to meet Mark back at the Margarita Bar. We are straight in and enjoy the show and back in no time.
We take a lovely walk back to the hotel and unfortunately have to pack for our flight home tomorrow, we then have some time to relax before getting ready for going out.
We have arranged to meet Vicky and Des at the Margarita Bar and I order the most delicious Baileys kind of drink!

We meet up with Vicky and Des and have a lovely last meal of our holiday in the Hard Rock Cafe.
We always order the Nachos
We walk back to the Hotel and arrange to meet up early in the morning to go back to Harry Potter Land as Vicky and Des found it to be impossible to get to see anything later on in the day as the queues are so long. We will be sad to be going home but looking forward to another ride on Forbidden Journey.
