15 yo ds is taking a friend (who we've known for so long that he's like one of our own kids!) to WDW with us in a couple of weeks. Ds' friend has not been to the World since he was an itty-bitty little guy. Needless to say, he's pretty excited. What are some special things we can do for him or have him do that will make this trip even more special for him? The rest of us go to WDW several times a year, so we have the big things covered (like DQ and thrill rides). I'm looking for the more unique or even just teen-centered. Also, while ds and his buddy both like to eat well, they've already made it clear that they will not accompany us to any sit-down meals (other than Boma). They just don't want to take the time (or want to be bothered by ds' younger siblings!;) )

Not sure this is what you are looking for, but my son really liked the hidden mickey book last time we went..you could get him one on ebay before you go?

I got lots of great ideas on this thread here for our 10 & 14yr nephews who will be coming with us in a couple of weeks.

Just thought you might find some good ideas there too. :goodvibes

My DS's were 17 and 19 when we went in 2005. We also brought DH nephew, 17. At that age just being there is enough. Give them some disney dollars to pay for their fool. Just about anything else is uncool. If you want get them a planning book like passporter or another. That way the two boys can sit down together and figure out their game plan for each trip. Also make sure they either have a cell phone or a walkie talkie so that you can reach them if there is anykind of problem or you just want them to meet you somewhere at a certain time.

I'll have to dig up our Hidden Mickeys book. Our younger ds is incredibly good at finding HMs, and the older boys enjoy competing with him at just about everything! I'd thought about having the kids see who get photos of the most HMs.
