Treasure comments & Future cruise questions

This is off topic, and I apologize for that. I am wondering if DCL gives out the Pirate Night bandanas on the Treasure. Since they don’t on the Wish and they are same class ship, i am curious.
The new ones are cool, here's a pic. Mickey in two corners and Minnie in the other two.

Follow up to my "next cruise" questions... we are considering an inside room to save $. Frankly, I'm a little freaked out by the idea, as we've always had a balcony (except for one time we went OV, which was fine).

Any words of encouragement (or caution) about inside rooms? We'd do the Deluxe Inside, which appears to have more space than the Standard Balcony room that we just stayed in on the Treasure.

People who have inside rooms tend to sleep really well because there's no natural light to keep you awake/wake you up (although for some the lack of natural light can be disorienting).

Depends to me on what ship- The inside rooms on the Wish, Treasure, and we can assume Destiny- are tiny and not well set up IMO. The placement of the TV in particular is not ideal and they have less storage space. However I really enjoy an inside room on the Dream or Fantasy with the Magical Porthole and characters flying by and a better set up and more storage than the Wish class.

The Inside room on the Magic and Wonder are even bigger and if you can score a Sideways Inside room really feel like you have more space.

Deluxe vs Standard - the only real difference is the split vs non split bathroom. The Wish class only has standard inside rooms.

Cool. If we do it, we are thinking Magic. Can you define 'sideways' (LOL)?

Yes. they have a layout where you enter and you are in the middle of the room vs one end of it. The rooms feels more spacious with this set up and its a bit easier to move around in.

Also you should join us on the Magic! We are doing 5 nights Sept 19th 2025 (Lookout, Nassau and Castaway). It is a Halloween sailing and the Disney destinations with a smaller ship (should make it much easier to grab a lounge chair and spots for lunch.

We were in a standard inside on the Magic for our 12 night Mediterranean cruise in 2014. We picked deck 5 around the corner from the Buena Vista Theater in order to have additional restrooms nearby. We are two adults, which probably made it easier for us vs if we were a family of 4. It was the only time we sailed inside, but I would do it again.

We had inside rooms on our last Fantasy cruise. Unless you are in the habit of spending long periods of time resting on your veranda, I think they are a great way to save some money. If you are sailing on one of the ships with the magic portholes, it can be fun, especially if you have young children. I never felt like I was trapped in a box. The only let down for me personally is that our cabins did not have the split bathrooms I like. But, now that we are putting the kids in their own room, it was much less of an issue than it might otherwise have been.

I've sailed in inside rooms on all three classes of ship (standard insides on the Fantasy and Wish, and a Deluxe Inside on the Wonder) and have enjoyed every single one. The deluxe insides are definitely bigger and the split bathroom helps a ton. Beyond that, how much you'll feel the difference between an inside and a verandah room is, in my opinion, mostly dependent on how much time you spend hanging out in your stateroom. If you and others in your party tend to spend lots of time hanging out in your stateroom, the lack of a verandah may be much more of an issue than if most of your party tends to be out doing things or relaxing in public areas.

We definitely prefer verandah. We are doing an upcoming cruise with two insides to save money and are not thrilled about it. We don’t find the rooms always smell “perfectly,” and we like to have fresh air in the room.

We had an inside stateroom a few times and always liked it. On the Wonder we booked one on deck 1 because we wanted to save money and absolutely loved it! So quiet, whenever you wanted an elevator it arrived empty. Just two floors up to the atrium level. Directly off the ship in ports. Great fan of deck 1 now on Magic and Wonder! We had 1041, doesn’t have a connecting door which we liked. Where the door would be was a little bench.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I do think the verandah is nice to have, but we are not big users of it. It's been more of a "this is cool" thing. We really don't spend a lot of time in the room. So we may try an inside for the cost savings. I especially like the empty elevator deal! We would definitely do a Deluxe, though, as the split bath is one of the things that we love about DCL.

It feels crazy because we've always planned a year out, but we are actually thinking about this June/July! Same itinerary though. I really, really like the idea of the smaller ship!

Funny, we are actually looking at 1041 for a cruise this summer!

Go for it! 5 nights are not that long that if you don’t like it, it’s going to be insufferable. And then you know for future reference. We did Alaska in an inside and had no issues with it, we spend a lot of time hanging out on the public decks anyway.

I kind of wondered about the sea breeze. We find Florida beaches quite comfortable in summer, so figured it might be similar on the water.

Magic in August and Fantasy in February ... sounds like you have great taste!

The adult pool area was my problem. The lounges were nice.

Thanks for the feedback! Part of the challenge is my wife teaches, so finding those value dates are tough. But this is good to know!

Thanks! I also have B2Bs booked on the Fantasy in July/Aug 2026. ;)

I agree with your comments about the adult pool section.

I'm in the same boat as I work in a school. Summer and February vacation are mostly my cruise times. ;) I do usually try to do the end of August when the price drops some, as we don't go back until September, but I have found I do like at least a week at home to get myself prepared for the start of a new year. ;)
