This is in the in-box of messages for all those who participate on Treasure Cities:

"Due to heightened security to help prevent against fraud we are required to configure all offers at TC to points. You will be paid for activity that you have done, however we are required to make this transition ASAP otherwise our site is subject to being terminated. All cash incentives will stop Immediately. You will be paid for all activity if your cash out has reached the minimum $20. And those final payments will go out on the 20th of next month. We will be offering Gift Certificates from numerous different places such as Disney, Wal-Mart and many many other well known companies!!"

There is also information about the running Jackpot for those who are interested.


I also emailed Kim and in short her reply:
"I spoke with one of the vendors over the phone. They are working with me and said as long as it is changed today with NO mention of Cash and switched to Points then we are good to go on offering Gift Cards. The points are just as if it were cash... 1 point = $1 and so on just towards Gift Cards.
The companies are trying to get a handle on fraud and unfortunately it effects the people out here that are honestly earning some extra money. We are optimistic with the change and hope that everyone is cooperative in following suit!!"

I just wanted to share with the heads-up what is happening with TC and the GTP sites.

The plot thickens for the wonderful site owners who are trying to help all of us add a lil to our income. Hats off to all the site owners

ugh so is this going into effect for August 1 or today July 23? It seems like it would be a pain to switch mid month rather than after the July 30 cash out. I"m not sure if I'm going to stick around TC if they go towards gift cards especially if they are ones I'm not intereted in. I just don't get why they are having to change when others aren't. Seems strange to me.

I would also like to know the status of July's payout. I like the site and would like to do a lot more with it but I want to get paid once to make sure, you know?

The site was shut down on Monday and they switched everything to points. As for the check payment, I'm not sure if it was immediately that our totals converted to gift cards or if we will still receive this months payment as a check/paypal and following cashouts will be in GC.

Sorry, I'm not sure how they are doing that.

Here's the latest. I think I'm going to continue over there to finish off the month and then I will reevaluate based on the gc options they have. I actually prefer sites with disney gift cards at the moment since I can't spend the cash when I need to save for disney. Not sure how I'd feel if I didn't have a trip planned.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your patience during this sudden transition. Unfortunately Fraud has become so big that it is forcing us to make these transitions suddenly. All Points equal money until July 31, 2007 at 11:59pm eastern standard time.

All activity next month and thereafter will be strictly on a earn points basis and will have to go towards the GC of your choice as long as we provide it. All gift cards will then be selected by you as long as we offer them and mailed on the last day of every month. Please be aware that the Gift Cards will be sent in your name ONLY!(NO EXCEPTIONS) These are the new policies and we all must get on board and follow suit!

We are attending a business meeting today (out of town) but we will return tomorrow evening. So at that time if there are any questions we will be glad to help when we get back!
