Treadmills?

Does anybody have a recommendation for a treadmill that doesn't cost a gazillion bucks? I just need a simple one for walking (although my daughter will probably use it to jog on). There seems to be such a range from $200-$2000 I just don't know where to start! Thanks!

Well, I have a Pacemaster Silver Edition that I got at a Fitness equipment store. You probably will think it costs a gazillion bucks as I paid about $2500 for it.

Let me just say--if you are seriously interested in working out on a treadmill and you want it to be a pleasant experience (and if you even *think* you might want to jog/run on it), you probably should pay a bit more money for it. I had my share of cheap treadmills and I never stuck with them because they just didn't work well. Either the belt was not long enough for my stride, it didn't glide well, or it couldn't seem to take the force of a slow jog. I finally broke down and bought a more "professional" treadmill and it has been a real dream to use. I've had it for over 2 years now and it still seems as new as the day I got it. I just think that with this type of equipment you should probably start out looking in the $2000 range.

We bought a used one (Proform Accelerator) on Craigslist for $100. I walk on it and my daughter (16) runs and jogs on it. Works like a charm!

I just bought an exercise bike from my mil from amazon.com and paid $100 less than the sporting goods store and plus free shipping and no tax! I'd take a look there!
