Travelocity/Expedia & Disney Hotels

I've never used either of these services, so I really have no clue here. How soon do available rooms show up on these sites? For instance, we're going in January 08. I want to get a room for the 2 nights before we check in at BWV. Expedia lists all Disney hotels as no rooms available--does that mean they just haven't gone that far in advance yet, or there will not be any rooms available? Also, if you get a room through one of these services, do you still pay for your stay at the front desk, just like if you booked straight through Disney?

Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!

I've used travelocity to book 2 of my trips to WDW and have never had a problem. The resort you are looking at may be booked, especially if you are looking at a value during President's Week....but check with Travelocity and hotels.com. If you are still having trouble call them and ask when Disney releases their availability to them.

Also, FYI, you will need to call DME to book them separatly.

And you will need to pay for your trip upfront on the website you use, not at the front desk.

I would carefully consider EXPEDIA, these three articles were published last week:

THE PEOPLE : about a couple abandoned in Portugal

USA TODAY : About poor management of a "mistake" or probably Bait and Switch scam (my opinion)

SUnday SUN: about another "mistake" poorly handled

In all three cases, the customers were unable to get a favorable resolution without the help of the media

At this point you can only book up to 12/31/07...even on the Disney Website. I think that this is because the 2008 rates have not been determined as yet.
You can call Disney and make your reservation on the phone, you will probably be advised that the rates you are being quoted are for 2007 and are subject to change.
