I got a great rate for an SUV from TPA through travelocity. Does anybody have experience renting through them? I like the flexibility of renting through the company itself and not having to pay until I get there. Any advice?

Thanks!

After you see a rate on Travelocity or Orbitz or Expedia, check the rental comapny's own web site to see if the same rate is there too.

Yes, I already checked National's website, I do that first, with codes from Mousesavers, but that rate is not coming up. I just hate to get locked into Travelocity, and I like the flexibility of renting from the company.

What are your dates and what rate did you get for what size vehicle with travelocity? June is a long ways off and rates will probably drop closer to then.

Ok: $293 including taxes and fees for a standard SUV from 6/19 at 10:30 to 6/26 at 4:30. From Tampa.

I would prefer to fly into MCO, but the rates to TPA right now are much better. That is why I have this conundrum.

I know it is early, but I read this board and played the rental game last summer and MOST, not all, people who got really good rates, got them earlier in the year.

That's a very good rate and when I did a general search on Travelocity I could not find anything even close to that come up. Then when I searched under National specifically for Last Minute Rentals from Jan 25 - Feb 2nd the same rate you got of $293 comes up. It looks like something might be broken on their site to give you a last minute rate for June.

I did find a slightly lower rate with Budget. Use BCD Number x797726 and Coupon Code MUWZ023 for $25.00. The total with taxes after $25.00 coupon is applied on checkout is $283.15

Thanks so much! I initially found the rate through the Florida Car rental link that you provided. I seems like I can cancel it without penalty, so I think I'll book it for now, and if I switch airports, I'll be ok. I will definitely check out the budget code and coupon as well!

I ended up booking through Florida car rental and got an SUV for my dates through National for $251 at Tampa. I think I'll keep it!

The coupon code you listed, where did you get the coupon from. Can anyone use.
