I noticed on the Travelocity web site when getting room rates, there is an area on the bottom that mentions the Travel Agent Commissions?

Is this something that the hotel pays them? or do you get charged in addition to your room rate?

Thanks

Travel agent commissions are paid by the suppliers. There should not be a separate charge to the consumer.
Travelocity has a sister site that is for agents only.

For many years now, I've always found lower rates by booking directly with hotel chains, than through Travelocity or Expedia. And there's no extra cancellation fees or stricter policies, as is often the case, added on when you book direct with the chains.

I browse Travelocity and Expedia for general info on what hotels are in an area, then I go direct to the chain website.
