Travelling to DLP with a wheelchair - help!

I've been to DLP once before when my son was a baby, he's now 7 and wheelchair bound and I've bitten the bullet and booked a family trip again for Feb, but I'm really nervous!
The travel agents were great and we have preferential treatment at the airport - board first, get the ambi lift etc, but they were unable to book transfers for us due to the chair.
I've got a few contacts, but they are in excess of €300 which I think is pretty rubbish considering the price of the normal transfers.
I have managed to get one down to €140 - but he can't travel in the wheelchair, which then means I need to faff around taking his car seat which I don't want to do! Also, despite explaining to them that his wheelchair doesn't fold, I'm still waiting for them to confirm that it will fit in with all the luggage.
I know the RER train sounds easy enough, but there are 3 kids going (the other 2 are 5 and 11) and it will be early morning, so with the combination of tiredness, excitedness, and the chair, I don't fancy trying to get that with all the luggage. Also, knowing my luck there would be a train strike or something and we'd get stuck at the airport!
Can anyone recommend a company please? Also any other tips would be great! We're taking his blue badge as I believe that gets an exit pass for us?
We're staying in an adapted room in the Sequoia Lodge which sounds perfect :D

I travel with an ECV. I will be coming to DLP from the US in April. I have checked and found that VES can handle the ECV.

Hi

I can’t help with the transfer I’m afraid but assuming you will be staying at an onsite hotel, did you know you can ask at reception (or by phone from your room) for a specially adapted minibus to take you into the park thereby avoiding the scrum of the shuttle buses? When you want to leave the park do the same by asking at City Hall.

I hope once you have your transfer sorted everything else will run smoothly – we have always found Disneyland very helpful and like you travelled with four children. I am sure your family will have a magical time! :)

Hi honeyb35 :welcome: to the Disneyland Paris Trip Planning & Community Board.

Hoping you'll have lots of fun on here    please join in with any thread or if you have any questions please start a new one of your own.

If you haven't had a look yet, the DLP DISboard posting rules are here and the DIS posting guidelines can be found here. :)

I'm really sorry to say that we can't help with a shuttle company. I remember a lady asking the same a couple of years ago and I recommended then that she approach the shuttle firms listed in our Very Useful Info sticky but unfortunately she never came back to us.

I hope you manage to sort one out a reasonable price. I sypmathise with you as my late father-in-law found the same. When he was in a fold-up wheelchair it was absolutely no problem to go in taxis but once he changed to an electric one he found it so difficult to arrange transport let alone one at a reasonable price. Consequently my brother and sister-in-law had one of their taxis converted to take customers in their electric wheelchairs.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies, I'm sure over the next few weeks I'll be on here a lot trying to ensure we get the most out of this trip as I don't think I'll be able to afford it again for a few years!
I was recommended to try the Saam transferat (I think thats what its called!) company but the contact tab on their website doesn't work and I'd rather not phone if I can help it.

I didn't realise about the minibus, I'd just read that the shuttle buses between the hotel and park were wheelchair adapted. I'll look into it further though thanks.
Cheshire figment - whats the VES and an ECV? Apologies for sounding thick!

An ECV is an Electric Convenience Vehicle, often called a mobility scooter.

And, although I have not yet used it, VES is a company that has shuttle buses from the airports (or at least CDG) to Disneyland Paris hotels.

Ah I've caught up now! I've had a quote from them, we can't go on the normal shuttle bus and their adapted transport was one of the more expensive options sadly.

Have you considered renting a car? They may be able to loan you a car seat too.
