Travelling St. Catherines to Syracuse

Due to a l-o-n-g story, DH and I will be flying to WDW on JetBlue out of Syracuse. We'll cross the border at St. Catherines and then head on down to Syracuse on I-90. I've never driven that part of the world . Can anyone give me some insight on what to expect--tolls? construction? gas stations? busyness? Cracker Barrel?

I understand that I will get off I-90, onto I-81 in Syracuse, and the airport is right there.

We went through a few years ago on the way to Sesame Place. The I-90 does have tolls, and to get the construction info

I found the trip pleasant compared to going through Pennsylvania. Rest stops were clean and open, roads were good. Just remember - you must drive with your lights on if it is raining!

It's a great drive! I crossed the border at Gananoque and took the Thruway from Syracuse to Buffalo for a conference. Traffic was light and the road is great. I paid about $6 in tolls.
