Hi,
The Search function was disabled, so (at the risk of irritating anyone who's heard this question before) can somebody suggest where to get the best dollar exchange-rates at the moment?
We're not going back to the USA for another 18 months, but are willing to 'sit on them' until then, - providing the exchange-rate warrants it.

Hi, we found travelex good. However, I read at the weekend that some people are expecting the rate to rise even further in the Spring before dropping again so personally we are waiting for the time being (next trip Jan 05) to keep an eye on it.

Hi,

I've found that Marks & Spencer have the best rate at the moment. Today it's at 1.78$ to the £. Only thing is that if you are ordering online, they will only accept a marks & spencer charge or credit card. I applied for one & received it in today, just for ordering my currency! It is commission free if you order over £500 worth, and their cards give you 55 days interest-free credit, as long as you pay your balance off in full by the due date each month.

Not sure whether to go & order my spends this week, or wait to see if the rate will go up any further. Maybe I'll get half just now & if it goes up near the $2 mark, all the better!

We use M & S and get them in store - unless you want a large amount you can get them straightaway.
They always seem to have the best rate when we look into it.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll wait to see if I can get 1.80$ before deciding.
It wasn't very long ago that we thought it was fantastic to get an exchange-rate of 1.58$. - So if I can get 1.80$, I'll be very pleased, - no matter how far it climbs afterwards.
(...as long as it doesn't climb too far)
