Has anyone tried using these in Orlando lately? Will hotels cash them? Will other places take them?

Thanks

I didn't know people still used travellers cheques, I thought they were a thing of the past! Why not just use cash or your credit card? Way less hassle!!

They're still widely accepted but a lot of people don't know how to use them. We have started using cash/credit again, plus now with visa debit you can use your debit card (i have low fees on my card in the US). A lot of Canadian banks also have partner banks in the US if you don't want to take out a ton of cash before you go.

If you want to use travellers cheques, then by all means do so. They are a safe and secure way to access cash on your trip. I have never had any problem cashing travellers cheques at Disney, although I have encountered one or two CMs who were unfamiliar with the correct procedures to cash them. That is simply a training problem, someone who knows how to process them will be available to assist you.

I always take traveller cheques and have never had any problems cashing them. Safer than cash. I do take cash as well, but am uncomfortable with large amounts. I use my credit card occasionally.
