we are going to disney in May .Has anybody had any dad experienced any problems using travellers checks as i dont want to take a pile of cash but i would rather not use my credit card .what about debit cards ?

We used travellers checks with out a problem.. a LOT safer than cash!

We've always used TC and never had a problem. :thumbsup2

TC's are your best option for a trip to Disney everywhere on property will accept them even counter service for eating. Debit cards will work if they are TD cards as they have a network set up in the US now and many other CDN banks do not.

That's good to know about the Debit card Charles...has this been a recent change?

It has been set up since last Feb if memory serves.

The only problem I had was when I lost them, but it was really a blessing, because they were replaced the next morning, just like the commercial. I highly recomend them. No, wait. I did have another problem. I had bought tc in Canada once, and the bank made a mistake, and issued Can.$$ instead of US$. When you purchase them, make sure they are in the right currency. I love tc and do not travel without them. I've never had a problem cashing them. I usually cash what I think I will need at the front desk of the hotel. It saves pulling out id if I am off site. Onsite, I have never been asked for id.

You said we so I suggest that you get TC's that allow two signatures that way either of you will be able to use them.

We used TC's on our last trip and it was great. When we checked in we setup room key charging, charged everything to the room during the trip and then the night before we checked out paid it all off with TC's. You do have to watch that you don't go over the room charge limit during the trip or Disney will charge it to the card. We only had a small amount of cash with us.
