traveling with multiples!!

 Hi Pam! :wave2:

Pam and I are in the same twins club. :woohoo:

Kritter, can you update the following for me on the first page:

Will be at WDW: 11/26/06 thru 12/1/06 (DH convinced me to take the kids out of school for a week). I can't wait, and we're also going to MVMCP! :yay:

Hi all,
I have updated the first page with some new comers info..and some of our updates...Hope it is all ok,...

Seems like many of us have trips coming up....

Hi All,
Wish I had better news..But I wanted to let you all know...what happened...I saw the pulmonlogist...Please excuse the typos I just took a pain med and am out of it...right now....
He told me my lung is 30% collapased again...
He gave me three options :
1. have a needle inserted to take out the air
2. have yet another chest tube
3. rest till monday see if it can resolve itself and no surgery
he told me he receommends number three since it is ? if the lung can handle a fourth surgery and if they get in there and it can not they will remove the entire lung...so I am resting and hoping for the best..But thinking the way I am breathing right now I will be going to the hospt...very soon...
Very painfull etc....
Not in the best of spirits thought this was behind me...
I want to say thanks to all of you I feel like I know you all and have not even met any of you...Thanks again..and I will not be posting for a while I am sure since they do not ahve the internet at the hosp...I soo hate that place and thought I would never have to see that wrotten place again...UGH!!!

Take care and keep our thread going.... I will need to read all the posts when I return

I jsut saw the surgeon this afternoon and the lung is now down 35% so we will talk tomorrow and see how I am feeling and then make a decission...Keep your fingers crossed for me..thanks soooo much!!!!!!!!

I hope you are wrong, & don't need anymore intervention. I don't know your story/history, but it sounds like you have had a tough time with your lungs! I hope you are feeling better soon.

I don't recall reading anything about this lung issue before with Kristen. Does anyone else? If so, could you post a link or a quote or something? Thanks.

Kristen, I'm sorry you're having these problems and hope you can work them out soon. I hope you do not have to have your lung out. You will be in my prayers. I imagine if you weren't breathing well earlier, you already left for the hospital. Please know we'll be thinking about you and those of us inclined to pray will do that as well. Update when you can. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Pea- I remember reading in her past posts that she has had pnemonia and collapsed lungs in the past. I just can't find the darn post.

Kristin I hope you are feeling better soon. pixiedust: :grouphug:

We have been having some issues going on with one of our twins. this is why I have been pretty absent on the boards.
Kori's L eye was found to be very weak due to a overgrowth of the myelin that covers her optical nerve, actually right now she is considered blind in that eye.
We have started patching Kori now after our appointment with the pediatric opthamologist . Uncorrected vision in her L eye is 20/400. As of now after 6 weeks of glasses there has been no change. We now have 6 weeks of from wake up time till bed time of covering her good eye to help her brain turn on her left eye. The Dr. didn't sound very optimistic though. We go back 2 days before we leave for the beach. So I am hoping that we will see some improvement between now and then.
If when we go back and there is no improvement then we will be looking into other options. She is only seeing color from the left eye as of right now so she is ok in familiar environments but she is very clingy and wants to be carried a lot. Of course that means that Kenni wants carried too before this is all over I am going to have arms of steel. I am not sure who this is harder on her or me.
I took her to school this past week and she was ok but I cried when she was telling the other kids that she can see them and they need to come closer. It has been very hard on us.

Thank you, Kim. I'm sorry to hear about Kori's ongoing vision issues. It must be frightening for you and for her. Will keep your family in my prayers also. :grouphug:

Kristen, I hope you are feeling better really soon. Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I will keep you in my prayers.

Word of advice to those of you with Boy/Girl twins that I wish someone had warned us about. If you have a ceremony like this where the boys are separated from the girls, split up so one parent and/or some other family members are behind one child and some are on the other side, that way one child won't feel "alone"; they're a little nervous to begin with, and having everyone on the other side of the church made it a little more difficult. Great day otherwise, but wish I sat behind DD. :guilty:

oh my gosh your kids look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

I am feeling a bit better...but not too great...going to see the dr. tomorrow...please keep yoru fingers crossed.....anyone here a nurse and seen or heard of this before???????

Kristen, there are lots of us nurses and other medical personnel here if I recall. But I think none of us knows what's going on with you other than what you posted a page or two ago. Can you tell us a little bit more if you're comfortable with that? Maybe we can help you research it or help you come up with questions to ask, etc. PM if you'd rather, of course. :grouphug:

Kristin let us know if we can help in anyway:grouphug:

The pictures are awesome! They are so cute.
We have been patching our Kori for 2 weeks now. Our PO
is wanting "from sun up till sun down" patching. The first week went
ok I was getting about 10 hours on average. I bought the DVD(which was
GREAT!), I bought cool patches, I have a sticker chart, I have spent
so much money on rewards for good patching days and treats and I just
don't know if I can do it anymore. This week has been awful. The
patches are pulling her skin off of her face when we take them off.
She is raging... screaming at me "why are you doing this? I promise I
will be a good girl just please let me take off my patch.PLEASE LET ME
TAKE OFF MY PATCH, I hate you. You are a bad mommy." and the list goes
on. I am a child psychiatric nurse, I see kids that rage and she is
acting just like some of them. I think her doctor has a older look on treatment- treat the eye forget the child. Her personallity has changed. While she
is patched she is not herself. She won't play, she can't even walk
without guidance. I have done lots of redirection, assurance, crying,
holding and loving. I just don't know what to do anymore. I just can't
see taking my self confidant little girl and breaking her spirit into
pieces anymore. I think I will go crazy myself before we go back in
six weeks.
