traveling with multiples!!

We have fraternal girls who made their first trip to WDW at 5 months old.
We're going back in 17 days and we can't wait! The girls will be 14 months then, so they won't remember it, but we will!
The last time we went, we rented a stroller and we got a park sitter to come with us. This time the MIL is coming to help with the girls. We can't wait!!!
(DDs born 12/29/04)

23 March - 26 March -- BCV

welcome arefboy,
So glad that you joined us...we can not wait to get to know you...

Today is my twins 25th birthdays. It is kind of a sad day for this old mom. Some days I really envy all of you young mothers. I miss the days of young children sometimes....but then some days It is kind of nice to be free. Anyway....enjoy those kids, soon they will be 25!

Happy Birthday to your children! I hope the day held wonderful memories for you as well.

I took the girls on Monday to get their last set of shots MMR DTP and Polio and BOTH girls had a reaction their whole arms swelled two time the normal size and scared me half to death... we are going back to the dr today to have them looked at again.

happy birthday to your twins...It must be hard to see them grow up so fast...I know I can hardly believe that mine are four...it is crazy where the time goes...

Same thing happened to both of my girls everytime that got a shot....don't worry it goes away!!!

There are days that you would be the envy of me. :worship: ....the teen years are going to kill me I fear!!!!

I already feel that way when I'm out at the grocery store or running errands and I see Moms with their babies-I miss having my babies around!! I definitely have days where it's nice to have them at school, but when I see other Moms with young ones I feel sad.

Karl,
I hope your girls had a wonderful birthday. I know our childrens' birthdays can be very bittersweet. :grouphug:

UGH not looking forward to four year shots mine go on march 1st....

Update...took my Alyssa to her Ortho. appointment (both had braces and are off, well worth the $6,000!!!) ;) Then I told her doesn't need to go back to school since it was 2 anyway. So, we went to our favorite Tea shop and had a cup of Chocholate Tea and a Biscotti. We had a chance to talk one on one and ended up haveing a wonderful hour together!!! I will make a point to do the same with Ash!!!! Love this thread and my new MOT friends!!!

Kim I am glad everything went well. I know it is nice to have some individual time, really special

Kristin, what shots do they get at 4? Mine go at the end of March

I'm not Kristin, but I can tell you the shot schedule varies from state to state. When we were living in TN, my DD didn't get any shots after the 24 month appointment--the remainder would be before kindergarten.

We moved to IL just in time for her kindergarten physical and they had to double check her records and give her 3 shots rather than the normal 1 to get her "caught up." The same thing last year for DS. And I expect the same thing this spring for DD/DS.

Speaking of whom, DD/DS turn 5 today! For preschool, they have to take a picture of themselves as babies. I printed out those photos last night and started bawling, as they've changed so much. Now I have no more babies!!!

Mine got Dtp, MMR and Polio these are their last they are given between 4-6 (prior to Kindergarten here in OH)...

My girls have had slight reactions too before to shots. NOTHING like this though, it was considered a moderate to severe reaction by her ped. we had to fill out a report to send in to the company... I am a nurse and it shook me up and I don't shake easily. Her (Kori) arm today is still 2 times the size of the other but much less red and she is having less joint pain. Still running a low grade. I am so glad that these are the last ones.

I took my oldest dd to breakfast the other morning by herself. We had a great time. It is so important to have one on one time with all of our kids. It can be so hard to do.

We got back at 4 a.m. today! We drove 22 hours straight through-sounds crazy but the kids were doing so well that we decided not to stop. We had a great time and the kids did so well. Our twins will be 2 on Monday and as all of you know you never know how toddlers will behave-expecially more than one. We stayed at the All Star Movie Resort and really loved it. The one thing that we did though was drive to the parks ourselves instead of using Disney busses. It worked for us.

Kikakeko-the 2 umbrella strollers worked out great. In Fantasy Land there was a big stroller parking area that we found after moving ours from ride to ride. It would have been a little easier if we had done that because everything was close enough to walk back and forth.

I was amazed at how much walking 2 toddlers could do. They walked almost the whole time.

Our 6 year old dd had a great time-it was her 1st and she went on everything! She really loved Space Mountain and even went on The Tower of Terror!

One of the best things we did was to go to Chef Mickey's breakfast. The kids really loved having the characters come to our table.

I am looking foward to our next trip-we are planning to go back in about 3 years and we'll include a cruise.

I am so sorry to hear that... What I do when my kids are sick is I go and buy special treats like cool popcicles and 7up or sprite things that normally aren't around and then I will rent or buy new dvd's and everyone gets their pjs on and pile on the couch and cuddle.

Kritter-sorry your kids are so sick. We actually started out on our trip with sinus infections. The 2 little ones were both put on antibiotics the day before we left. Hope your two feel better soon!
Tracy
