Traveling with kids which park IOA or universal

We are taking our grandchildren ages 13, 7 and 3. We are unsure of which park to go to. We are willing to split up if it would be better for the older one to go to IOA and the younger ones to Universal. Doea anyone know from experience? I have read all the info, but still am unsure.

Both parks a very close together the kids will love them all the themeing in IOA is superb theres a little something for everyone at both parks

All depends. Does your 13-year old like the big thrill rides like rollercoasters? Then (s)he will definitely prefer IOA over US, however, US isn't a bad choice if you chose that instead.

I think the younger kids will be limited at IOA (not that there is nothing to do, but) with height restrictions and everything...they couldn't go on the coasters, and other certain rides. At US they can do pretty much every ride, plus they have some shows they might like (Animal Planet, Ghostbusters, plus other activities in KidZone and the Nick Studios).

Both parks. They both have great things for the whole family. yes there will be restrictions for some of the kids, but my 3 year old loves IOA. Especially Seuss Landing.

My kiddos were 2, just turned 5, and almost 9 on our last trip- they enjoyed IOA more. It really depends on the children though- my son would just DIE if we didn't go to IOA so he could ride Spiderman fifty billion times. But then he's a spiderman freak. LOL
There were a lot of rides my youngest couldn't ride (ofcourse) and some my 5yr old couldn't... but they enjoyed Suess landing/etc.

I think too many people think IOA is just thrill rides and they miss out on a great park kids of all ages love it and young kids love Seuss the colors etc are so eye catching for them
