I have emailed questions on various resort threads and now need to square away where to stay next June with my parents and my DD who will be 7. My DH will stay home to work. My dad is a Disney junkie! Here are the resorts I have narrowed it down to. My parents may or may not rent a car to drive down and meet us. We fly from VT. My dad snores, so all being in one room.is out, plus I am a light sleeper and need my own adult space!
POFQ- like small footprint and kid's splash zone. Like that they have renovated rooms. Would request connecting rooms.
CBR- least expensive moderate. Construction will be done. Concern is size of resort and if large groups might be apt to stay here.
OKW- rent 1 bedroom villa through outside company. More expensive. Like the kitchen for breakfast together and that they have twin sleeper sofa for DD. Unsure about distance from parks.
FW Cabin- like divided sleeping space. Less expensive than OKW but concerned about how long it will take to get to parks.
Contemporary- garden view room with enough sleeping space for all and I love the proximity to MK, but I would have to contend with dad snoring.
AOA suite-like the sleeping arrangement but I am not a big fan of crowds and noise and thin walls I have read about.
ASM-like the look of the new rooms. Would request connecting rooms..not sure about thin walls and noise I have read in reviews.
Any resorts I am not considering that I should? We can't afford a 1 bedroom villa at any other deluxe resort. We can't afford 2 rooms at deluxe resorts. Thank you!

Not sure what your budget is, but I'd do a 2BR at OKW. The rooms are big and it would give your parents their own room & bathroom. Rent through a broker.

The only one that really meets your criteria is 2 rooms at POFQ. Anything else and you'll be listening to your dad snore. Go for 2 rooms - you will all be happier after a good night's sleep.
How are the air conditioners at POFQ? Do they do that annoying thing where they turn on and off throughout the night?

I would do two rooms at any value or mod. I have traveled with many different family combos. On vacation you need to relax and have fun and snoring will kill that.

You will all make great memories if you are well rested.:flower1:

I have stayed at all the resorts and really all those would work. The mods are better quality so go there if can however we did enjoy AoA and it was not as crowded or noisy as pop or all stars FYI. It felt more upscale. I didn't like the food tho so we walked over to pop a few times.

Pm me if any specific q's :)

We’ve done 2 separate rooms and also a suite at AoA. Both were great options. The bonus to the suite was having the kitchenette and a larger table space for eating breakfast in the room, and we loved having the sofa area for sitting and watching TV. It’s nice to not always be sitting on the beds. You also have the ability to close the bedroom door which might help with avoiding the snoring.

My vote is for POFQ. CBR is too big for my tastes. I think you will be uncomfortable with the set-up in OKW. Transportation would be an issue for me at Ft. W (though it's beautiful there). I've stayed at AoA and it's REALLY loud and the walls are thin at the values.

POFQ would be perfect, IMHO. Small, beautiful resort. 4 queen beds which will be very comfortable for everyone and you can close the connecting door (if you get connecting rooms), so everyone can sleep peacefully at night.

Any chance I could get a corner king bed room with connecting door to a room with 2 queens? Are the king beds more expensive?

Yup, based on your needs, POFQ seems to fit best. There is also the added bonus of the boat to Disney Springs. As others have said, your other options have people sleeping with Mr. Snorer :) I think the cabins at FW would be too cramped, anyway, with only one bathroom. Enjoy!

King bedroom are a separate booking category and they are more expensive than rooms with two queen beds. However, I don't know if any of them connect to another room.

How important is it to have connecting rooms? It's been my experience that a lot can be heard thru those connecting doors. If you're concerned about hearing your father snore, you might be better off with adjoining rooms instead.

As far as your choices are concerned:
POFQ - best of the choices you listed; affordable, small, good splash & play area
CBR - possible alternative, especially since it is more likely to be eligible for discounts than POFQ, gondola system and Riviera construction still likely to be a factor in June.
OKW - someone is going to spend the week sleeping on a sofa bed. Not soundproof. Your daughter will be going to bed in the "living room". Only one bathroom. But it has a full kitchen and a washer/dryer.
FW Cabin - Same concerns as OKW but no W/D. Need to use internal bus system to get around the Fort. Very spread out.
CR Garden Wing - everyone in one room? No...just no.
AoA suite - someone is still gonna sleep on a sofa bed. And your daughter would still be going to bed in the living room. Two bathrooms are a plus but the kitchenette is nowhere close to OKW's full kitchen.
ASMu suite - see AoA

We really like CSR, the renovated rooms are fantastic! I do not find the resort too large. The multiple bus stops are super quick and easy. Fantastic bus service, better than some of the deluxe resorts I have stayed at!

My mother and step-father stayed at POFQ and loved how compact it was. It was great for grandparents, parents and kids. They liked the buses but most of all they liked the short walk to anywhere. They did not get a discount as they went in Oct, but they were ok with the price.

I have not stayed at CBR, so no personal experience there. My sister stayed there prior to construction. She liked the theme. She did not like the bus transportation (crowded and took a long time to get going) the food court and the size of the resort.

Two rooms, no doubt. I would not request connecting rooms. I probably would not request adjoining rooms either. I may request the same building if staying with family. But then again I find the distance between POR and POFQ to be the perfect distance between families when traveling together.

Another idea, a Deluxe Room at WL. It's 2 actual rooms, BR, LR with a Sofa Bed. There is a door that closes between them. (You don't have to worry about not getting connecting rooms.) These rooms also have Club Level Access. So, you could save quite a bit on your food/drink. The WL FAQ thread has photo's.

Cool. Thanks for the info!

I don't think AOA has thin walls at all. But I haven't been there in June so not sure how noisy it will be.

We love CBR and the gondolas will be ready by then, that in itself will be an attraction and quick access to Epcot and HS (and AOA so your daughter would be able to explore those awesome areas).
