We are traveling with another family and one of their kiddos is assigned to our room. They will be arriving at port with their parents, do we need to wait for that child to board with us or will they able to board with their own parents? We are members so we will be checking-in a few days ahead of time and will likely have an earlier PAT as they are first time cruisers.

Also, what actually goes on at the terminal? Because check-in is now online is there anything we are doing at the port that would require us to have their kiddo with us? I know we can get forms filled out so that her actual parents can check her out of the kids club and off the boat. Can that be done at the terminal? Or are they checking your PAT like an airport ticket and you just board? Haven’t sailed in 18 years, SO excited to finally go back on DCL! TIA❤️

They check and verify documents for everybody on your reservation when you check in at the port. Based on that I would think he/she would need to be with you.

Correct- for all intents and purposes that kiddo is yours and will need to check in with you, board with you, muster drill with you etc.

You’ll need to either acquire her and check in/board at your time or all check in/board together at their time no exceptions

Any idea if we will need documentation for them to travel with us at port? Wondering if we should just switch our friend with her daughter instead to make it easier🤪

Got it! I’ll make sure to have a folder with all of our documentation then for the port! Haven’t cruised in so long so I don’t remember any of that process-plus my mom did it for me at the time, haha.

Will you need the forms giving permision for a minor to travel with you, signed and notarized? May be something to consider just to help the process go smooth since parents may be checking in at a different time.

No that’s done at online checkin. As long as they have proper documents (birth certificate/passport) there shouldn’t be issues.

Ok, when we traveled with grandchildren they have always asked for the traveling minor form along with the passport. We always had it. So I didn't know if they would still allowing boarding with out it.
Sounds like you got it worked out.

awesome! I called and talked to DCL and was able to find the form we need to get filled out so hopefully it will all be smooth sailing at check-in! Thanks for your help, appreciate it!

Did they say you have to present it with the passport to board?
