Traveling with a group not on a meal plan

I just want to make sure my logical thinking is correct before I start making reservations.

My family of 5 is going to DW for 6 days. For 3 of those days, my ILs are going to go with us. They will be staying elsewhere and NOT getting a meal plan.

Can I book reservations for 7 at our table service meals, and then we turn in MP credits and my ILs just pay the tab?

It's really no different than splitting a tab anywhere, but I just want to make sure you can do that before I book.

You are absolutely correct! Just let them know when you sit down how to split up the check (e.g. us 5 on DDP, those 3 not on a plan), and you'll be good to go. (Note: they CAN do it after, but it's easier on them to know ahead of time!)

I've done something similar for the past 2 years, and doing so again for this year. Mom comes along with me for the first 5 days of my 10 day trips. Since she's not on my reservation, she doesn't get a plan and just pays for her portion. (I add her to my room when I get there, and listen to the spiel of how she's not eligible for the dining plan and all that... it's becoming old hat by now )

Thanks! They are looking so forward to joining us at Biergarten, and I didn't want to end up having to forfeit 7 meal credits because that's what my reservation was for. Just grabbed the time I wanted! (YAY!) I will be sure to let them know when we're seated. Thanks for the tip.
