Hello,

We are heading down in 5 days and I am not sure what to do with my sons Car seat. The last time he came with us he sat in it on the flight down. He is a older now so he will just be sitting in the normal airplane seat. We will not need it until after we check in, so if it can be treated like baggage and I can put a Magical Express tag on it that would be great.

Does the Airline (Jetblue) treat it like regular luggage? If so do I need to put it in anything, or can they just put a baggage ticket on it and I can put the Magical Express tag also?

Or do they treat it like a stroller? In which case we hang on to it right up to boarding time. Then we must lug it to the hotel ourself.

Thanks in advance,
Peter

You can do it either way.

If you check it as baggage then I'd recommend getting a large duffel bag to put it in. Some airlines have plastic bags they will put a car seat in, others don't have the bags (and it may vary from airport to airport). You may want to consider putting beach towel or something similar in with the seat to cushion it while being handled.

Or you can hold on to it yourself and schlep it through the airport and then gate check it when boarding.

Personally, I'd check it as checked baggage. I've done it several times and have never had a problem. Others may (and probably will!) disagree.
