Hi All -

So I am looking for some advice - (I am going to post this in a couple different places b/c I am not sure where the best place is) ---

We are traveling with 10 month old twins in Dec/Jan - Can anyone who has traveled with little ones before - please give me any and all recommendations on how to make this a more enjoyable/easy experience -

Any stroller recommendations? - Should we bring our own or rent one?
IS there a baby care center at each park? - Experiences/recommendations.
ANYTHING to help us plan our day a little better.

Thanks in advance.
Laura

Hello. I have a little advice and everyone else can chip in on what I left off. We went in April with 10 month old triplets. We packed enough to furnish a village and did not use most of it. The resort had pack-n-play(3 of them left little room to walk) and they supplied sheets also. I would definitely take your own stroller. The rental strollers are hard and plastic and very uncomfortable for babies. In the parks, we took baby food, bottles, diapers, wipes, and a few toys that we could link (linkadoos) to the stroller. We filled their bottles up with water, and when it was time to feed, we added the powdered formula. This kept us from having to lug a cooler. We didn't use the Baby Care Stations at all. The boys were content in their strollers. We carried Baby Bjorn carriers and carried them in those for the attractions. IT gave them a change of scenery too. We carried a few light-weight blankets to hang over the canopy of the stroller in order ot keep the sun out. We lathered them up in lots of sunscreen, dressed them in cool clothing, and we were off. We found it easier to drive to the parks, that way we werne't lugging three babies and a four year old on/off the buses. It was just safer. There were so many things that the boys could do, we were suprised. They napped 2x a day in the stroller with no problem (they are normally horrible nappers.) I guess we wore them out! At night time, they got a little fussy, but at home, they are in the bed by 7:00. Overall, they were good and the trip was very enjoyable. Good luck and most of all just enjoy being there with your babies. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I will help in any way possible!

Oh yeah, we drove to WDW and it was a 12 hour trip. We stopped about every 4 hours and let the babies stretch and eat. They napped in the car and the drive wasn't bad.

I forgot to tell you about the strollers. We took a single and double. For the double, we took the Maclaren Twin Traveller. It was very easy to manuever through the stores and park. No difficulty fitting through doors, etc. It folds easily and we were glad that we had it there. We also had a single Mac Techno XT and it was fine too. In my opion having one stroller (double) would be easier as far as staying together, tram/monorail, etc.. We stayed at POFQ and they were very accomadating to us and 3 small babies.

We traveled with our twin boys when they turned 1 year old (and our dd5). We brought along our own stroller (Graco DuoGlider). We went there expecting the worst and everything turned out great. We used the baby care center once, all the other times we used the changing tables in the restrooms. The baby care centers are very nice and good place to escape for some quiete time at the park but they are all out of the way. We also used the bus transportation. It was a bit of a challenge getting on and off the bus with 3 kids and double stroller. Luckily on some of the trips people were very thoughtful and helped us out.

We just went to Disney with them again this past April at which time they were 2 1/2 years old. Well, it was much easier when they were 1 year old because they were very content with being in the stroller at that age.

My best advice is go at a slow pace and enjoy yourselves!

Laura -

We are going to WDW with our 10 month old twin DD's in early December, so this thread caught my eye! We are planning to take our Peg Perago Twin Aria (side-by-side) stroller with us - it is extremely light and very comfy for our girls. We are also planning to rent a car for our stay - we figure then we can take our time to and from the airport, make a trip to the local Walmart for baby supplies instead of packing them, and drive to the parks if we find it to be too much of a hassle to use WDW transportation.

We are going to stay at WL and I am requesting a king bed room, since I think it would provide more room for 2 pack n plays. Also, by staying at one of the deluxe hotels, we will have a balcony that DH and I can sit out on while the girls fall asleep at night.

I'm excited to hear that someone else is going to attempt this trip with infant twins! I think 10 months will be a great age where they can really enjoy all of the sensory things that WDW has to offer!

I'd love to hear some of the specifics on your trip!

HI, we have taken our twin boys at ages 11months, and 2years. We also have 3dd's who have been to Dis to many times to count. We have done 2 singles and we have taken a double. There are pros and cons to both, my double is a side by side and I prefer that to a tandem(easier to fold and lighter). Our only stroller problems have been dragging them on the bus with babies and 3 other kids, and most of the stores in the parks are so tiny and crowded you can't take a double in(it's hard to get a single around). We get 2 pack-n-plays, and I always bring an extra blanket for the babies from home. We also did the bottles of water then added the powder formula(our kids were used to room temp water, much to my Gram's horror!!!) I never used the baby care centers for any of the kids. We usually go first thing in the morning and then come back for a nap or break at the hotel and then return to a park for the evening. My advice is take it easy----don't over pack
I always thought I needed things for "just in case" and all it did was make my backpack heavy. Oh, that's another tip. I use a backpack for a diaper bag. Keeps the hands free and is easy to carry on rides and the bus.

We first took our twins at 7 months old--great trip!!! I had all of our baby food, diapers, wipes, formula delivered to our hotel by Net Grocer so that we wouldn't have to pack it all on the plane. We stayed at the Contemporary with 2 porter cribs and a fridge. the girls loved the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. They really enjoyed small world, the Merry Go Round, Tiki Room, The Parade, and Winnie the Pooh. We did the baby swap a few times. We used the Baby Care Centers in every park--Very clean!! In Epcot, the care center is at the far end of Future world close to where you enter World Showcase so we changed the girls there before heading off to Mexico for lunch and a boat ride. In the Magic Kingdom, it is next to Crystal Palace so we ate with Winnie the Pooh ( kids under 3 are free at buffets) after using the care center. The girls also loved playhouse disney live at MGM. They slept in their double stroller side by side for their naps either in a restaurant or in a hotel lobby.
We took them back at 14 months and they were able to do more rides and were down to 1 nap. Also, they recognized more characters.
Our next trip was when they were 2 1/4 and they had a blast on almost every ride--still napped in their strollers.
We leave Friday for the long weekend. We have been living in Florida for 3 months now and this time we can drive 3 hours to Disney. I am glad not to be losing 2 days to flying and lugging 2 car seats on the plane. Our twins will be 3 in october and they are already so called "Disney World Experts". This time we have adjoining rooms at the POP Century---no cribs. Florida resident rates are great---$59 night. All my twins talk about is what rides they will go on at the Parks.
Be prepared for a lot of "twin comments/questions" from total strangers--More so than at home.

I have twins girls, that are 5 years old now, and find all of you very courageous people to bring small babies at WDW, twins and even better triplets!!!

We went this summer with our twins and our son that's 8, and we found that it was a lot of work and planning! I cannot imagine what it would be like with 2 or 3 babies!!!!

When the girls were babies whe did a trip to Niagara Falls (Canada) it went great but it was nothing like Disney!

Anyway, I would definitly bring my own stroller, and lots of patience!!!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!! :thewave: :thewave:

I would definitely bring your own stroller. Our girls were 2 for their first WDW trip and 3 when we went to DL with their 4 mo old sister. They are now 11 and 8 and have been more times than I can remember.

There are so many products available now that I would have killed to have back then. I would take the disposable spoons, bibs, etc. so you can just toss them when done. I packed diapers, wipes for the trip in the suitcase, and used the extra room for souveniers on the way home.

That time of year the weather can be unpredictable, so be sure you have warm clothing for them in case it's cool.

Have a great trip!
