Ok so I'd like to consider myself an absolute EXPERT as it relates to Disney World and my own two children (who are five and have been there 6 times since they were 4), but I have a new quandary/question for those traveling with smaller children.

I am surprising my kids in October (taking them to MNSSHP) and invited my sister to come along with her two little ones (Sonja will be just shy of 3 and Mia will be 6 months). So, my question is...what will the 6 month old be able to go on? Since it is just 2 adults with 4 children (5, 5, 2 yrs 11 mos, and 6 months)...I want to make sure my 2 yr old niece experiences the magic the way my kids did their first time, but at the same time don't want to have to child swap EVERYTHING. I mean, I'm not expecting the infant to be able to go on Splash Mountain for pete's sake, but can she go on things like Peter Pan? Small World? Winnie the Pooh with my sister (or me) holding her?

Your help, insights are appreciated.

Hi,
I took my daughter when she was 4 months old and again when she was 1 year old. At 4 months we carried her on all the rides except Space Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn and Splash Mtn. She went on everything else. At that age she didnt even know what was going on and mostly slept in the Bjorn carrier. at 1 she was more aware and clung to me on the darker rides...Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion etc....
We had so much fun both times but we took alot of breaks in the Baby Centers.

we took my son at 6mos - and carried him on everything - and you're lucky that the kids are little so you won't have to worry about the big rides - at three my kids went on almost everything - being that you're alone with the kids keep it simple - take the rides that all of you can go on -

Ditto for the above. I went when my girls were 6 months and 2 1/2. We went on all rides that were coasters or had height restrictions. You can even go on Dumbo. My 6mo loved it.

Hey! Just wanted to add my support for taking the 6 mo old on rides. Technically, they can ride everything without a height restriction, so when my daughter was 3 mo old, we took her on everything we could! It was a blast. She's now 3, and LOVES "her" rides. She knows that they are ones that are good for her. We're actually having a hard time figuring out if she can do Barnstormer now...she's never done it, obviously, and can't really figure out if it's scary or fun! She has also been on the Tomorrowland Speedway (not driving, of course!). ;) Our 18 mo old loves the rides, too; he was 7 mo old his first trip last year. No problems with any of it! I say go for it!!! It's a lot of fun taking them on those rides!! :thumbsup2

Ditto for me. We took our four month old last December and took her on all the rides without height restriction which is all except for like 12 of them. We had a great time and she either slept or was happy being held or in the bjorn.

Thank you all for the responses! It is greatly appreciated. My sister hasn't been since she was a child (she's in her 30s now) and SO much has changed so I want her to really see why we go so often. I'll have her go on Soarin' with my kids and we'll do the baby swap for things like that, but it's good to know that we won't have to do baby swap for everything. THANKS again!
