Traveling Turkeys Part 2 11/22/08

Btw, did anyone see the posts about the Wonder on Sunday the day after we got back? It broke loose from its moorings in PC due to bad weather. There is a thread w/pictures including the captain in shorts and no shoes. We really got an extraordinary break in the weather department.

Chuck:cool1:

I just saw the thread. WOW! I know we had some serious winds on the Florida west coast that same day.

Hey Chuck Remember Colby is currently on that ship. Sure he was not having a good morning :)

I don't think anyone was having a good morning, and it probably got worse once they left port and hit the Gulf Stream.

Judy--glad you're enjoying the cd!

Suzanne--I saw that Teresa said she would make a copy for you. I'd also be happy to.:)

Lora--I'm so sorry about Bob! I will keep him and the rest of your family in my prayers. Keep us posted on how the surgery goes. I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday.

I haven't been on all week because reality has been biting me in the rear! I'm going to have to check out the post about the wonder. We had such perfect, beautiful weather. It was the best weather I've ever had on a vacation. Just perfect!:thumbsup2

I hope everyone is adjusting to being home and in the real world once again. I saved some chocolates from the ship and have thought I might turn down my kids' and my bed some night and put the chocolates on the pillows. I don't know if they'd like that or if it would just depress them.:confused3 :rotfl:

Good Morning.
I started my new savings jar yesterday. As I was putting all of my coins in I noticed one was a fake gold piece from Grand Cayman! I have also decided that I am going to take the advice of some budgeting/savings expert I saw on NBC. He said you should always "pay yourself first". I'm opening a new savings acct. on my lunch break today and I will deposit $ every payday. This is my new DCL acct! Now I have something else to look forward to.
I picked up my pictures last night. I'm very disappointed with the processing and may take a lot of them back. There are some fun shots though. I think I need to buy a new digital camera for myself!
It's in the 20's today and snowing. Happy Winter!
Have a good day.
Make good choices!
Be kind.

We looked at a few of our pictures last night, no great ones of the Magic and Wonder together but we did have lots of good pictures otherwise. Has anyone been able to order the Magic/Wonder ones from DCL?

Happy Friday! pirate:

Cindy,

Look at the thread "Wonder and Magic at CC yesterday" post 27. I copied it and printed it on photo paper. Came out great.

I thought about doing the same thing, but then I ate all the chocolates. I couldn't help myself. Besides, the kids barely let me have any on the ship. :snooty:

Its 20 degrees and the hocky games on . . . . Sorry Judy, I could not resist.

We finally got around to unpacking souvineers, the shirt fits great . . . Thanks, I love it.

Susan, A friend of mine was at the FL Carolina game on the first row and sent a TON of JB pictures too me. Of all the games I decide to miss!

Ken -
You're too funny! I was singing that last night while Ian was watching the Penguins/Carolina game. It was driving him crazy! "Boat drinks, boys in the band ordered boat drinks....." He finally begged Tim to tell me to stop!:lmao: I live to torment my children.
You can wear your shirt and officially talk like a Pittsburgher. "Yinz wanna beer anat?"
Did your print arrive yet? Tim still talks about how clever you were!

Chocolates? What chocolates? I ate those so fast. I threatened both of them not to touch my blue dolphin chocolate. I ate all of the gold coins myself (I hid them). That is so selfish and terrible but I was time limited. I knew when I came home I was never going to have treats like that again because I'm back on the diet. And they can buy Hershey bars whenever they want.

All you Giants fans - What's up with Plaxico Burress? I loved him when he was a Stiller but boy, he didn't make a good choices did he?:sad2:

Coming back to reality has hit me so hard that I ate all of my chocolates too.:rolleyes1 So much for my bright idea. I'm off to do some Christmas shopping. DH and I are leaving for Vegas on the 19th, and when we get back, I'm having my side of the family at my house for Christmas.:scared1: I have a lot to get done between now and then.

After we returned from our cruise, I was told that my district might do away with the tech position I currently have for the next school year. They are having major budget issues. As much as I'd hate to switch back to the regular classroom since I love what I'm doing now so much, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I guess I'm just fortunate that with the economy the way it is that I'm pretty much guaranteed a job in our district. I'm thinking in a positive way!:goodvibes

Have a good day and as Judy says, "Make good choices!"

susan, sorry to hear that. Tenure is a good thing. A lot of districts/counties in Florida are going through the same things. There is on in South Florida where the schools tech person teaching two classes. It was a budget thing.

I took my daughter and her sitter to the Magic Kingdom today to see a filming...yes Chuck I went to that crazy place we warn you to stay away from, but she really wanted to go.

So the people in front of me in line had just gotten off the Disney Magic and their story made me really appreciate our weather.

At GC they were awoken to an announcement saying we are now pulling away from the island and enjoying another day at sea. The weather was too bad to allow for tendering. She said they had two days of rocking that made people fairly sick and you could see thing sway in the dining room. And then bad weather for pirate night so no Mickey coming down and no Pirate dropping from above.

I felt bad for them even though they said they still had a great time, but it made me appreciate our weather so much more.

Judy, how about them Steelers!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2

I am going to try and post my trip report sometime this week.

They are something! What a defense!:cheer2: :cheer2:
I fell in love with Santonio Holmes all over again last night. I just wish Big Ben would THROW THE BALL!!!:scared1:

I know this will thrill you all......but I started my trip report. Not too exciting yet, but keep checking it, I think it will get better as we go along. We have Tequila tasting, items go missing and we find a great bartender!!! Stay tuned!

Just read that DCL is making some type of "SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT" on Dec. 10th. What do you think it could be???

Free cruise for all Traveling Turkeys? (crosses fingers)

Which tequila tasting were you at? I didn't see anyone I recognized at the Thanksgiving day one. Though after it was done, I don't think I recognized my friend I went with. :rolleyes1
