Well I did buy the game at Walmart at 12:01 a.m. and I was up kinda late, but this morning has been extremely hectic in the office and soon we will be on our way to the stadium where the Hurricanes play Va tech tonight on national TV.

Latest update from NASA:

Liftoff remains on schedule for 7:55 p.m. EST Friday. The weather forecast calls for a 70 percent chance of acceptable conditions and the launch team reports no technical issues.

We'll be in our backyard watching the launch tomorrow night.

All this talk about kids getting excused absence for the cruise. DD school doesn't have excused absences, you are just absent. I've talked with her teachers and most of them are assigning her work ahead of time. Our school policy is for ever day your absent you have 1 day to make up your work. We have already told DD that vacation is vacation and you can do your school work when we return.

As for the gingerbread house, they didn't have a family activity in 2006- just the big one being built. Michelle is right- it probably depends on the who's in charge and what other activities are planned. I love watching the big one being built! Now I just have to figure out how to squeeze it in my luggage and bring it home!

Speaking of drinks.....what is everybody's favorite drink? Just curious?

I'm going see if I can get a bartender to make me this drink. We went to Charlie Browns and they have this drink called Voodoo Juice and boy it is yummy, so I asked for the recipe.

Pineapple Juice
Cranberry Juice
OJ
Coconut Rum
Pineapple Rum
Banana Rum
Mango Rum
and mix it all together. It taste like a fruit punch.

It's named that because one of the friends says when she drinks alcohol it makes her eyeballs flame. So I made sure to make a drink she likes that not only makes her eyeballs flame, but has flaming eyeballs (cherries) in it.

It's made from amaretto, vanilla vodka, and pineapple juice with a splash of grenadine and 2 cherry eyeballs. It tastes very much like pineapple upside down cake.

Cruisecrzy, I know you've post this before but I need to know when formal night it. My DD wants to wear her formal dress on her b'day which is Tuesday. I'm thinking that is not formal night. I might need to come up with 2 formal dresses.

While I'm at it which late dining time do I want if I want to be in Parrot Cay for pirate night and Lumeres (sp) for formal. Is that possible?

Susan -Those drinks sound so good. But my all time favorite is a Manhattan - neat. Second to a Manhattan is whiskey and soda. I love them but fruity drinks are dangerous. I forget what I'm drinking and the next thing you know I'm either on the floor or driving the big white school bus in the bathroom........

Ken - I've already packed the zip lock bags for the cookies!!

Shay - Fat pants. What a great idea! The person that invented elastic should win a Nobel prize!

I'm not sure about whether Kenzies 2 days absent will be excused or not, but I sent a note to her teacher last week. She sent us a note last night that said for Kenzie to keep a notebook of things she learned and enjoyed. I had already gone to allears.com and printed off a journal for the trip with a 2 page layout for each day.
