Have several dinners planned at various resorts and we'll always be back in our room at POFQ for an afternoon rest. Which would be quicker...boat to DTD/bus to resort? Or bus to park/bus (other) to resort?

Example: 6:00pm dinner ADR at WL...boat to DTD/bus to WL? Or bus to MK/boat (or bus) to WL? Which would you choose? When should we leave the resort?

BTW, no rental car...taxi is an option but like using Disney transportation.

Have stayed at POR 6 times in the last two years. If you are going to WL, it is quicker to go to MK and then take a boat. Getting to DTD takes time, and then you can wait for a bus quite a while that makes other stops.

You will have to give yourself over an hour to arrive on time using Disney transportation. If you want to save time, get a cab. I took a cab from Pop Century to POR and it was only $7. It is really a hassle to worry about a bus and a boat getting you anywhere. We were on the Dining Plan twice and decided to rent a car. I was able to use the codes from Mousesavers for National and at the last minute paid a little over $100. It was worth it for us. Remember that after your meals, you have to wait for that transportation back to POFQ.

My suggestion is to always plan on a meal near the theme park you plan on visiting at that time of the day. This way you can just take a Disney bus to that park without having to use numerous buses or other transportation. For the MK resorts plan on the MK. For the Boardwalk area plan on Epcot or the Disney Studios.
The last thing you want to do is to have a dinner reservation at one side of WDW and then plan on going to a theme park on another side. WDW is just too big and spread out to make dining reservations without regard to your theme park plans. We found that out the hard way back in 1997... :confused3 ......but we didn't know better at the time.
